Can you play from the Xen-chapters?
I played Black Mesa when it was free, great remake. Now I want to buy it for the Xen-chapters, can I play from those without having to replay the whole thing?

Can someone just start the game (who hasn't played it before) to see if the chapters are locked?

And how do you make a console command? I know it's maybe the key that looks like a ~ but how do I make it? (I copied that key from Google) (Danish keyboard)

Not sure how to do it on a Danish keyboard, but that symbol is the correct one. On a US keyboard it's Shift + the key that's above 'Tab' and to the left of the number 1.

If that doesn't work, you can make the console automatically open at launch by setting the Launch Option: -console

You can find that by Right Clicking the game in your Steam Library and choose Properties, it should be right there at the bottom of the General tab.

Found it, it's altgr + ^, which causes ~.

Again, can you play from the Xen-chapters when opening the game for the first time?

No. Use the commands mentioned to unlock the chapter, then select it on new game.

Not sure what does being drunk have to do with anything. As Peter said, not everyone uses the new UI.

Then the problem solves itself. OP doesn't have the game. If he buys and launch it, it will be the updated current version, not the old UI. All chapters are unlocked by default and can be selected from the New Game menu,
