grass / paths

cant really figure out how i should place grass on the roofs / or place something pavement a like, instead of the (imo) crappy path textures

You place them by making paths. Then right click on the path and click room materials.
Then the first icon you can pick ( the one without a texture ) is the grass floor one.

But before you can apply a texture and build stuff. You first need to turn your area into a "room" by building a fence around the edges. Use the "outdoor area" option next to the regular walls in the build menu.
