How to Know what planet are you on?
I accidentally click on a planet without seeing the name first ... and now I land on a planet that I don;t know the name is ...

is there a way to see what planet are you on without needing launched a shuttle first ???

I dont see any map or way to see the orbit ... often I forgot what planet I had been on and travel to other planet bringing the wrong resources ...

You can open Astropeeia on planets and look for a planet with a similar color scheme to your surroundings.

I even looked at the game and other than launching into space or looking up, which planet looks like the one, you're standing on, I don't know. The game isn't really big on maps. If you are on the wrong planet and only have a solid fuel thruster you probably have only enough fuel to fly to another planet. It will be best to go back to Sylva, pick up or make another thruster and go where you wanted to go in the first place.

Nothing in the game will tell you, but if you describe your surroundings we can.

I think the point is, there should be some indication to you what planet you are standing on.
Maybe you can figure it out, but you shouldnt have to.

I need this not only for now ... but for future playthrough ...

I restarted the game for experiencing the xeno fauna update ... but if I played my previous walkthrough, I never know where I was too ... and I missing a lot of information for what to do next

and I believed in the future, this thing will happened again with my current playthorugh ... if a new game released, I will pause my current playtime for the new game ... and then return after some time

I know you can see the name of the planet with GAS EXTRACTOR ... but besides that, I never find one ... and its odd that from a lot of items in the game, you can only see the name of the planet in one item only ... and you need lots of effort to create Atmosphere Extractor

Certain resources are only available on certain planets. Depending on the planet you're on, Hydrazine and Aluminum are found in slightly different places, it affects the hazards you might find, how much wind/sunlight is available, whether you can do either of the prototype missions and which one, whether you've activated the gateway engine here,, and for asking the forum for survival tips because you're out of launches and have no oxygen network.

Here is how to figure it out:
If the atmosphere looks green and there is a heavy cloud cover then you are on Atrox.
If the planet looks like earth you are on Sylva.
If there is a ton of vegetation everywhere and it looks purple you are on Vesania.
If everything is white you are on Glacio.
If it looks like a desert you are on Calidor.
Otherwise you are on either Desolo or Novus and then you should look to the sky. Desolo orbits Sylva and Novus orbits Vesania. You determine the moon by watching how the closest planet looks.

There's seven planets, all very distinct at a glance.

So go exploring and find where those resources are? I don't see the problem in not knowing the name of the planet you're on. Stop looking at the wiki and degrading what tiny, underdeveloped exploration experience this game still retains for yourself. I promise it'll be more fun getting back home that way.

In my opinion this is what the game should've been for everyone, for every new game started. Every planet should've been a randomized set of resources and biomes and defied memorizing the wiki to know exactly where to find everything of interest the second you step on the planet surface.

So by your opinion I should be running around on Glacio trying to find Lithium because I thought I was on Vesania? Or should I be running around on planet X for two hours trying to find Lithium when Lithium doesn't spawn on planet X, except there was no possible way for me to have known that?

All resources can be found in no more than 50 meters away from where you land. Chill on drama.
Can always check wiki too:

May I know how old are you? Interesting. If you are new to the game, then this is understandable. My 9 year old son knows all the planets, plants, resources and their derivatives by heart. He probably really liked the game))

Sorry, no complaints.
