Hey guys,

Thank you for reaching out, sorry to hear that you encounter crashes when launching the game.

To rule out some common causes I have some tips I would advise trying below:

- Ensure your PC meets all system requirements [www.ubisoft.com]
- Try to have both the game and Ubisoft Connect and Steam on the same drive
- Add Ubisoft Connect and the game to your anti-virus/firewall whitelist
- Complete the steps in our dedicated troubleshooting guide [ubi.li]

Should this issue then persist, would it be possible to share your system specs?

Many thanks

Hello! I managed to fix it on my side. What i just did was follow the steps of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T41ktUpSkgU

I recomend watching this guy video. But i will leave the steps here too:

Go to your game root directory:
(Example)

"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege"

Here Right click on RainbowSix.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility and check this two options:

1.- Run this program in compatibility mode for windows 8
2.- Run this program as an administrator

In theory that should do it. BUT, if you want to make sure it works check and try to repair "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 -2022" (just to make sure that wasn't the problem)

Personal Recomendations: The new engine has a high chance to be the one messing it up. So i would recommend doing this extra step here:

When you are going to open the game, do it using steam and choose "Play Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six Siege - DX11"

Thanks! This worked for me
Yesterday I updated all my drivers. Since GeForce Experience was apperently not supported and I needed the new Nvidia app. Then it showed me driver updates again. This looked to be the solution, but today I had the same issue.

I tried your solution and it worked. I also found out that I needed to login to Ubisoft Connect again. Open the app before launching R6 on Steam, since the auto launch wasn't showing any problems.

Lets hope it will work tomorrow again.

Hey guys,

Thank you for your continued updates, it is great to hear that the solution Another has kindly shared has helped.

Should you encounter further trouble, just let us know and we will be more than happy to help
Today I had the same problem. No updates needed, but the compatibility run fix was removed? Set this option again and had to run Steam and Ubisoft Connect as an adminstrator. Now it works again :)

Thanks for your update once again, it's much appreciated.
After update, same issue.
This time I needed to optimise the game again in NVIDIA.
Graphics > Programs > R6 Siege > Optimise

Hey TakeItEasy,

Thanks for letting us know. Good to hear it.

Please keep in mind, we do not support Nvidia App and we have no control over its optimisation process.

Sometimes, it can do too deep an optimisation and cause a game not to launch at all.
We advise to reset the optimisation to default and close the app as a troubleshooting step.
