Large multi-cannon firing delay
Why large multi cannons have delay before they start fire?
It is useless against small ships who outmanauer players pitch.
Every milli second is important there but if weapon starts to fore after 1.5 seconds then small ship is already begind you...

On my FdL: 1x C4 G5 Overcharged w/Corrosive and 4x C2 G5 Overcharged w/Incendiary

If I get you in my crosshairs you're going down in seconds, unless you have a huge supply of shield cells to pop while youre fleeing:steamhappy:

I have heard there is a nerf incoming for this build, but not sure of the details yet.

Wiiiiii one more guy has huge corrosive! :))) Nice.
I took huge corrosive because Huge ammo runs as twice as long than other multis.
So i have always corrosive effect aplied. Well other multis may run out of ammo.

How about heat? dont you get hot very fast?

How pips are related to heat?

more pips to wep = more efficient heat management

What ScareCrow said. 4 pips and you can shoot until you run out of ammo. 3 pips is "meh" but necasarry in many fights. I had a 60 minute duel just now with a Deadly ranked Clipper CMDR that spanned maybe 8 different stops. He was modded to the hilt, too, and very very fast; the only way I could keep up with him was full throttle and spamming boost...my hands are still shaking as the last 20 minutes was on oxygen and no canopy

Yes but this is future. Machinery is like futuristic? No? :D

Well no i have no difference really. Only i just can shoot longer with 4 pips and thus i finnaly start to overheat. I can prove it with live broadcast if necessary.

1x grade 5 huge gimballed corrosive multicannon
2x grade 5 medium incendiary multicannons
2x grade 5 medium gimballed multicannons
2x grade 5 large multicannons

I am really interested on that Clipper commander. Would like to meet him for testing purposes.
Well i don't fight till death at least for now because i am not ready yet. Not everything is modified but i am making my Cutter to be one of the best ships among top endgame players.

I am still dealing with weapons because making grades from 3 to 5 then trying 10 times grade 5 to get desired roll and then ask for favor to get back to grade 3. It's long time road for each of 7 weapons.

it is a ballancing thing!

They run colder
They use less power
They use less distributor draw
They make more damage

all of the above in direct comparison to pulse laser!
So of course there need to be ballancing therefore: they use amunition and they have a fire up time and a reload time inbetween....

Makes more than just sense! its is neccessary or the game would just tailor to them... and the alternatives would make no sense!

The Elite universe isn't as futuristic as you might think

This

To start with Humanity in 3300's is stagent technologically and has been for quite some time... most of the ships we fly for example are 2-300 year old models!

It is also entirely possible that in 1000+ years Humanity could have another "dark age" before then rediscovering some tech and reaching the stars, with some tech still being behind where we are now.

I mean for the vast majority of Human history the largest structrures on the planet were built millenia ago! The UK has been prattying around trying to decide if we should build HS2 for years and it still isn't ready to start digging! DId the Romans or Egyptians or any of the other ancient civilizations do this? No, the Victorians too were better at managing big projects! Of course they didn't care much for the value of Human life Health and Safety etc but the point remains, the history of Human tech is not one of consistent growth, it is of overall growth but with peaks and troughs like the stock market. And sometimes in the troughs things get lost that take a very long time for us to either rediscover, or in some cases we never, or may never do!

In the past for example Humans had supersonic passenger jets, it's entirely possible that will be somthing we will never get again, and aliens could look at us thinking "how did they get to space when they are so primitive"? Our battery tech has been basically static for years, motor engines are still basically somthing Henry Ford would recgonise! etc etc

I blame rock n roll music and video games.

at the very least one would expect ballistic to atleast behave like they do in current times rather than using 1876 tech

Thats no excuse to be using hydraulics IMO my 2856 space ship has a power plant that creates electricity Modern gatling guns use electric motors for instant power and high speed.

Well as we don't yet have gattling guns in space no one actually knows how they would work. Maybe it's for better reliability. Maybe there would be no space gats and only energy weapons and torpedo like Star Trek. Who knows. And honestly who cares? People want instant damage. Pick a laser. The end.

to be honest im kind of surprised that they did not include a gatling laser
