Classified Scan Databanks
Inara says I can get these from ship scans. Anyone know what sort of ship scans? In SC? Normal space? etc

Scan datapoints in Low security + and ++ settlements thats the easiest way of obtaining them.
Might take abit if ur looking for 50 for the engineer tough but those have the highest chance of obtaining them (even moreso whit RNG invloved).

I've found that scanning (read: targetting and getting details from) Internal Security/Federal Security/Alliance Police vessal also can give you classified scan databanks

Yeah I have 8 from I don't know where, Inara says transport ships, I got some stuff from a few T ships but not the right stuff.

Don't really want to be faffing with settlements, as thats a lot I need to do and I don't really want to refit my ship for doing it, as I have some engineer mats onboard I really don't want to be taking it dangerous places when I'm going exploring over the weekend.

You can get them from degraded emission USS's. The ones with the wrecked ship debris field and the data beacon you can scan. Even the ones with pirates in them, trying to ambush you, shouldn't be a problem if you scan and boost out.

Ah, Inara doesn't mention that, worth a shot, thanks!

Man....I was USS diving and scanning surface data points all evening and got nothing but trash data...and the nerfed payout applies to intel data as well if anyone is wondering. getting just over 1000 cr for a scan. Still fun tonscan bases though...I've almost got the SRV VR nausea under control.

also there is a new fanpage for calculating the next settlement around you:

I can't remember if there was a specific state the system had to be in, for them to appear. I just remember gatting a few of them at the same time as the rest of the the data once scanning was complete. Not that often, but once in a while.

+ settlements
Easiest data gathering ever.

Whenever u are in SC going from star to station, target and scan all ships in your path, u get a bunch of stuff over time.

Yeah I did some of that today, tbh all of these suggestions added together to get 42 more seem about as appealing as getting the 500 ore mined all over again.... I'll just live without extra heat sinks I think.

Filter for Outbreak systems, look for Convoy Beacons, bask in all of the CSD's you will have filling your data storage.

Took me about 1.5 hours to find about 35 of them. Say 3 hours of work while you're catching the hang of it, mrray. If you're into using HSL's, it's worth the work required.

Using the method I outlined (Convoy Beacons) I gathered the CSB's required to gain access to Ram Tah in about 90 minutes. With just a little more gathering I hauled 6 HSL's to him and got them modded up to G3 Extra Ammo. Extra ammo translates to 1 sink extra per launcher, with some significant downsides; considerably longer load times and increased weight. I took the ones from the batch of 6 that I intend to use for my primary combat rig and continued rolling on them until the negative side effects were negligible.

Totally worth it IMO, if HSL's seem at all usefull to a pilot. You can either have more sinks total, or get rid of one launcher and put something else in the utility slot.
