But it does have the distances limitation for planets. It only sees stars regardless of the distance. To see planets around a star you need to approach to around 20 Ls (passive discovery).
The manual scans are done with the FSS scanner, which is different with the "bangy" discovery scanner.
This is a huge quality of life improvement in the exploration space.
(ADS is not a module anymore. but dds (detail discovery scanner) is still a thing.) The best module selection is typically in high population High tech or industrial economies.
