Guardian vs Engineering

I’ve tried Googling it , just want to know the Pros/Cons with these . I’m wanting to build a Combat Vette, have hit rank 5 in Engineering with Tod “The Blaster” for my Multi Cannons, but have always wondered which is better ? Is there certain Guardian items that are better than Enginered versions? And vice versa. As said I’m hoping to build a PvE focused vette, with the intentions of possibly taking on the Thargoids(a wee bit away yet) but help would be very much appreciated 😁

Generally speaking Guardian modules are better than regular modules but can't be engineered.

However, it all depends and its probably best just to use a few modules.

FSD booster is great for exploration ships

Shield booster is good if you can spare the slots

I wouldn't recommened the powerplant or the power distributor.

The Power Distributor is good. It actually boosts the output of your power plant, however only get it if you already got the much more important Boosters (FSD and Shield, Guardian Module reinforcement is good too)


An interesting niche for the Guardian Distributor is for exploration builds. You can squeeze a bit more power out of a lower grade powerplant (or engineer your powerplant to low emissions more easily)
