Updated Firmware - Vive no longer recognised (Error 301 and Error in device manager) - Help!
Hey Guys,

Pretty urgent issue here!
I've updated the firmware on our Vive it all went smoothly so I thought. The controllers and dongles updates no problem and I updated the HMD too.

However now in Steam VR i'm constantly getting a Error 301, in device manager there is now an error with 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' where the driver is apparently uninstalled and finally when I try to re-update the HMD to check if it did work and now is reading

"D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OpenVR\tools\lighthouse>bin\win32\

Any help will be awesome,
Thanks,

I had the same error which was resolved after rebooting. Hopefully that helps!

Was anyone able to find a solution to this? I'm having the same 301 error and device manager flags.

I'd been having a similar issue and found that unplugging+uninstalling all of my Valve related devices using USBDevView[www.nirsoft.net] (you can tell which ones because they are vendor 28de) and then plugging them back in normally (which will automatically reinstall their driver) fixed the issue.

It's worth a shot.

Thanks for your reply zalo! I've done this process, both with USBDevView and with the built in usb reset tool. I didn't have any luck with either of them unfortunately. The search continues.
I got in touch with the Vive support guys and it appears the firmware update bricked my headset so i've been sent a replacement. I suggest you do the same :D
