Maximum room size? How many Vive in one room?
Hi guys I have two questions. I have searched the web and cant fins the answer.
I ordered two HTC Vive's. I overpaid for one on EBay to get it within a week and I ordered the other from HTC which should arrive in June.
My EBay Vive should be arriving tomorrow, I have a large living room, and I want to set it up for the larget size possible. I just want to know how much furniture I will need to kick out.

What is the maximum room size?
When my second headset arrives, can I use two at the same time?

Thanks

I think for THIS vive, its 5m by 5m. But i'm sure they will allow larger sizes in next gen.
And larger is anything, even your backyard (500m3 and such)

~5m distance between lighthouses is the supported maximum. This allows for a square area of 3.5x3.5.

Thanks for the room size answer.

Does anyone know if two hedesets can be used in the same room. Maybe by one powerful PC or two seperate PCs?

I know the devs of Hoverjunkers tested a massive room-scale something like 30x30ft and tracking still worked perfectly. I will have to search for that video of them doing that. I currently have 20x15ft with no issues.

I read there is a way to configure multiple Vives, even for the same room, so the Lighthouses read the correct sensors. I'll have to search when I have more time later.
You will need 2 PCs though.

Running 4 Vives in one room here. I'm 99% positive I read that HTC designed the Vive for up to 9 Vives in one room. https://youtu.be/NixHENChoQ4?t=148

Here it is. They ran the Lighthouses 27ft apart.

I'm currently running about 4.5m x 3.5m. Lighthouses are close to 6m apart (~19 feet or so). The software warns me that they are beyond the recommended distance, but it seems to work so far. Having that little extra room is worth it.

Thanks very much. I know its two months away before I get my second Vive but are there any games or apps that will use two headsets. I assume based on that video that Hover Junkers allow two people.

One of my favorite games will be co-op Raw Data, it is said to be simply amazing.

you might be the first one to try a 4 lighthouse setup, might be able to go 40 by 40 what would be cool to see and to see how many people you can have in one space lol

wonder what you would do for the cord though?

too bad batteries dont last long and cost too much otherwise you could walk wherever you want in the play space and not have to worry about the cable

Haha I don't have that much room. The space I have available is only 18x15ft. My ceiling is only 8.5ft and I think my ceiling fan is going to be a big issue. It is in the middle of the living room and the lights are only 3-4 from the top of my head. I think I can remove the lights and leave the fan, if the fan does become an issue then I may have to remove it as well.

I do agree that a massive area with multiple people would be awesome... A VR Lan Party.
