GTX 1080Ti and GTX 950 with Vive Problem(s)

Now, the problem I'm having...

When the Vive is not plugged in, my system shows (through the Vive App and through nVidia's 'GeForoce Experience) that my system is ready for VR and shows both GPUs. Everything works fine.

When I plug in the Vive, my monitor runs fine on the GTX 950, but the Vive doesn't work. It's getting power, I've verified the cables are good and properly plugged in. At this point the nVidia 'GeForce Experience" states that my system is not ready - it doesn't show my GTX 1080 with the Vibe plugged into it.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've ordered a set of DisplayPort to HDMI adaptors to see if plugging the Vive into the HDMI port and my monitor(s) into the DisplayPort(s) on the GTX 1080 will fix the problem. Hoping someone can help in the meantime.

Multi GPU systems dont work natively with VR and Sli is barely supported. Disable the 950 in the Nvidia control panel when you want to do VR. Unfortunetly it's the only way for now.

You'd think that the lower card would be the one ignored. Thanks.

I'll give that a shot with a DVI to HDMI adaptor to connect my monitor at the same time as Vibe on my 1080.

Took a while to find that I had a bad/intermittent USB cable. Works fine now.
