Xbox 360 Controller Not Working At All
I'm attempting to use an Xbox 360 MadCatz Fightpad and none of the functions work in the game. Dpad, buttons, nothing.

You could try x360ace or some of the options in steam big picture mode (which includes PS4, Xbox and geric gamepad support)?

if your buttons work, switch the toggle for left stick, dpad, etc.

Are you sure it's compatible with PC? Does it work in other games? And which ones does it work with?

x360ce shouldn't be needed because it's already an Xinput controller. Tried Big Picture, it does nothing. It works fine on PC, and it works with literally every game with Xinput support. So pretty much any game on Steam whatsoever.

Not sure why it isn't working. The game works fine for me on XInput and DInput using X360CE.

If it works for you, saying "it works for me" is not helpful feedback. If there is another suggestion, suggest one. If you are experiencing the same problem, post in this thread so the devs can see it and fix it.

You didn't even try the fix that worked for me saying it was unnecessary. What if it was necessary for a strange reason we can't think of now? It's an XInput emulator, not precisely XInput, so maybe it has other functions that they call per button press.

I'm going to avoid third party software regardless, since having to use third party software is an admission that the game is missing controller support. Considering I have met the requirements that the developers said would be needed for a controller to function with the game, using a work-around is not an actual solution.

Not to mention that controller emulation adds a bit of input lag, and in a fast-paced fighting game, that's not really acceptable.

worked for me just fine

Not useful feedback.

So you're refusing to use a 3 second fix because it adds only a few frames of input lag (Which may or may not even be the case) and because it's a workaround? Nice circular logic. That's the logic of someone that wants to complain just to complain rather than complain to get it fixed.

It definitely is the case. It's also not a reliable workaround: being able to hot swap controllers is a pretty important requirement for fighting games, and any third party software that requires manually mapping each button outside of the game is effectively removing that feature due to the extra setup needed. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the game to function as advertised.

So instead of repeating a sub-optimal fix, it would be more useful for people with knowledge or experience to potentially find a reason why the game isn't reading the controller and coming up with a native solution to the problem, rather than just giving up and having to use bloated third-party software to restore native intended functionality.

Now listen here. I was generous enough to provide a possible fix and here you are being rude and selfish. I'm not your free tech support and I'm not working for Capcom, so you can take that entitled ♥♥♥♥ attitude out of here or else nobody will be willing to help you. I have a ton of knowledge and here you are telling me that I'm suddenly not knowledgable because you don't want to use a 3rd party software. You're literally the definition of a console peasant, and frankly I don't respect you in any way as a gamer.

With that off my chest, check Steam big picture and make sure it isn't being set up as a generic controller. Hell, try seeing if setting it up as a generic controller works. Otherwise, take your attitude and ♥♥♥♥ off, or you can start by respecting people that try to help you out of good will.

You're very obviously not working for Capcom, because this is listed in the FAQ for the Steam release:

"Prior to launching Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, please ensure that external controller remapper programs/apps such as Joy2Key, X360CE, XPadder and DS4WINDOWS are disabled or shut down, as they may interfere with the game."

Third party ANYTHING is not supported, and is not going to be seen as a real fix in any case whatsoever. You even posted in your other controller fixes thread saying that if the third party options don't fix it, to contact Capcom, while Capcom themselves are saying to not use third party fixes at all.

Starting to insult someone by calling them a console peasant is because they won't use an input lag inducing "fix" is absolutely outrageous, because PC players are the same as fighting game players. We want things to run optimally, for optimal play. Your comments in other threads and here have led me to believe you don't actually know what you are talking about and are just reposting things you have seen in the past and labelled as "fixes".
