What kind of game is LiveTale, and how is it different from other RPGs?

LiveTale is a GM-free, sandbox roleplay platform focused on collaborative storytelling. Instead of relying on one talented storyteller to run the game, players use dynamic event cards, relationship mechanics, and world-building tools to shape the story together in real time. It’s built for role-players who want freedom, immersion, and creativity without the burden of preparation.

Is LiveTale free to play? What will I need to pay for?

Yes, LiveTale is free to play. You can create characters, explore sample Tales, and build your own Tale for free. However, to run a premium, campaign-ready Tale, you will need to redeem or purchase a Premium Tale Credit. Some exclusive character items are also available for optional purchase.

Do I need a party to play, or can I join solo?

It's okay if you don’t have a party to get started. You can host a new Tale and start building your world by yourself. When you're ready, you can open your Tale to the public or invite your friends with a join code.
