Gamepad not working!

My USB Gamepad have no response in-game. But it's working since it works under windows gamepad diagnostic. Please help!

Hi, what gamepad are you using? Also are you playing in full screen, windowed or borderless? And lastly does your keyboard controls work ok?

Just a cheap USB gamepad without analog. In full screen mode, even I try the X360ce gamepad still not working, it's running on a PC, the programmerss should make the gampad work directly.

I use an Xbox 360 controller and it works fine, could you confirm which screen mode you're playing (check options to see if you're playing: fullscreen, windowed or borderless.

Can you try clicking the mouse while it's (hidden) inside the Galacide window to see if the game is somehow losing focus?

Yes, I've my other emulators working with the gamepad all the time.

No, it's in focus since it's in full screen

No sure what game made with Unreal Engine 4, but I got PCSX reloaded, Demul, PCSX2, MAME all working with the gamepad.

I'd still like you to try clicking the mouse, just to verify this. Window focus is sometimes weird with UE4's handling of display modes, even in full screen the game may not actually have input focus.

Not sure you're developer or not, when not in focus the game music will stop. I've double confirmed it's the game is running in focus, but gamepad not working in the game. Test with windows built-in gamepad button and axis response normally.

Okay so i'ma just add this information so other people can use it.

Unfortunately UE4 does not support HID compliant controllers (read: playstation / other non xinput controllers). Now if your controller uses the 360 drivers or you use something like InputMapper then your controller will work.

If you use HID compliant controllers you would probably already be used to this as a large number of games don't support them. Sadly we are no better it wasn't natively supported and since we are a small team with not a lot of time/resources we didn't get a chance to work around this issue.

I've used JoytoKey in the past it allows you to map your inputs to your keyboard so sadly only the first player will work. Welcome to the beautiful world that is PC gaming.

I bought the Linux version, and went to play it, and my gamepad doesn't work either... I bought it specifically because of gamepad support, and most of my other games work fine. I use xboxdrv, and the only game I can think of that didn't support this was The Banner Saga, and the devs were unable to fix it. I *really* don't want to request a refund because the game looks great, but I'm playing in a Big Picture setup in my living room, and proper, working controller support is really a must... Can this be fixed or not? I don't know what other UE4 games I could test... But if it's a fault at the engine level, then they really need to fix this. MANY people use xboxdrv BECAUSE most devs just code for Xbox pads, and some of us don't really care to give Microsoft money, and/or some of us prefer better gamepads.

Thanks for the link... I posted on that link saying that Guacamelee worked fine for me with a Logitech F710, and the OP stated that AntiMicro wasn't even needed for Guacamelee after setting up his controller in Big Picture. Now, I looked in Big Picture's settings at the Controllers page, and there appears to no longer be any way to edit a mapping, probably because it says it detected a "XInput Compatible Gamepad" and it Just Works(tm) with everything else I play.

If nobody using xboxdrv can play the game, then a significant portion of Linux customers do not get the advertised Full Controller Support. Maybe contact the ARK Survival Evolved developers and ask them how they got xboxdrv gamepads to work on UE4?

Glad to hear the developer speak up. Well, I don't expect Windows games didn't support windows device, how ridicious. But I like your honest, and I understand small companies don't have lot of resources to solve all the problems.

I just wonder Microsoft is intentionally pusing us PC gamers to XBOX or PS4, that's why they're selling so good.

I tried out an Xbox 360 wired controller *without* xboxdrv, and it doesn't work either. Do any Linux users have controllers that work in this game?
