Issues from the update

I initially played the game back in 2018 and didn't have a problem with it but now that I got back to it there are a couple of things that I'm personally finding a bit annoying:

The first thing is that sometimes when I shoot down certain enemies the screen flashes red, and some other times I see some kind of "faint diagonal dark line" going from the exploding enemy to the bottom of the screen, are those bugs or am I missing some system requirement for the updated version ?
I ask this because I don't remember either of the two things from the previous versions and while I don't have issues with flashing lights and such, I do still find it a bit annoying to have the screen flash whenever I shoot down something (this seems to especially happen on Stage 2).

Secondly, I believe some update must have broken my savefile.
I remember I cleared the game and gotten all of the achievements back when I first picked it up, but yesterday after I reinstalled and put back the savefile as well everything was locked once more again, so I guess there has been some compatibility issue ?

Thank you for your time and, if I can ask for a small thing: can we have an option to change the player color without picking a different player slot ?

Those most certainly sound like rendering bugs of some sort. Are you able to provide your computer's specifications (CPU, RAM, Graphics, etc.)? Additionally, if you're able to capture a video of this behavior, it would be immensely helpful toward identifying the problem and fixing it.

You may be correct that Save Files have been broken. It was an unfortunate side effect of needing to fix a bug during the development of this game last year. There's no way we can modify a user's achievement state, so your achievements should still be unlocked on Steam. However, your Save File has probably been reset.

This is a great suggestion, thank you! Unfortunately, our time and ability to develop Galacide is pretty limited right now. We're working on raising money for a potential sequel, so this would be something we'd love to incorporate in the future.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 CPU 3.10GHz
Ram: 8 GB
System: Windows 10 x64 bit
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX-660

Another couple things I forgot to mention: If the problem mentioned above is due to my machine not being compatible anymore, can we have the "older" version of the game available for download as well then ?

Also, can we have this game on gog too ?
