Owning a whole region ?
Hello,

So I just conquered my very first fortress and I cleaned every outpost in the region. I was wondering: is there any point in having all the captains of the region on my side ?

Now that I own the region I expected that every orc in there would be mine, but obviously, it's not.

They added a rebellion system where if you own too many orcs in an area, a sizable group will betray you at once.

Ok so clearly I should not try to get all of them. Thanks !

The only thing having all the Captains on your side helps is in Online Siege defense and Endless Siege defense, since you can assign multiple Captains as body guards to each of your War Chiefs.

OK. Well that's a bit of a shame since I don't really feel like I actually own a territory. I'll just move on to the next region then.

Oh that's why I always get like 10 ambush betrayals at a time, I pretty much always brand captains instead of killing them, and try to get them all before I take a fort and move to the next area.

You own the frotress, and fill it with 100% follower captains, warchiefs, and Overlord. The rest of the region is still filled with enemy grunts, but never enemy captains, as long as you always fill every spot on the army screen.

Yeah but then if the rule is that the more captains I have, the more betrayal I get, I don't think I'll bother filling every spot in my army. It's already a long process as it is, so if it gets me nothing there is no point.

The Nemesis System is still new and will take time to be developed, Monolith might not make another Middle-Earth based Nemesis System, but it doens't mean they can't make their own unique world for the Nemesis System.

Remember the first Assassin's Creed? Compare it to the newer version and you see it's basically the same game but with one new feature added, essentially this is how sequels and games age and develop into better things (excluding Assassin's Creed but Origins which was spun so far out that it's not even an AC traditional game, they're all just the same game with a new coating over it every year)

But the sole purpose of the Nemesis System is to create an illusion of a world that feels alive, with living people, and I'd say Monolith has done it better than quite a few game developers/publishers.

Sadly we're yet to see any new take on the Nemesis System, or something similar, this is litterally the most unique thing for AGES since Civillisation/AC/Race game/Famous Franchises Sequel reboots and no one has taken inspiration from this, companies like Ubisoft won't because it takes hard work, and those companies only want the money if they can cheap out hard work.

I'm not saying it's ♥♥♥♥, I really like this game, I'm just saying how it could be perfected, in my opinion ;)

I enjoyed it too, just played through it myself.

Word of warning: once you complete Act 3, the game goes from great to CRAP. It goes into a sort of "New Game +" mode where you're forced to do everything all over again just to fill a percentage bar and unlock the final cutscene. DO NOT BOTHER. Watch the ending on youtube and it connects seemlessly with what happens at the end of Act 3.

Saved myself 20 hours of pointless grinding that they clearly put into the game to push gamers towards buying progression enhancing loot crates.

Skip Act IV unless you like the game so much you're ok with the grind.

Um.. do YOU remember assassins creed? Ubisoft did a great job of adding significant amount of new content to each game. They experimented with entirely brand new systems, created an entirely new open world that required them to build new assets from scratch each time, and entirely new protagonists.

Meanwhile.. shadow of mordor and shadow of war are interchangeable. They added some enhancements to the nemesis system, but if you told me i was playing shadow of mordor I would believe you... graphics were barely touched and the game plays almost exactly the same.
