This is yet another review which echos most of the other reviews on here. This game is basicly browser based but through steam.
The game has a pay to win element to it (correction you dont 'win). You have to wait ages for iems to build or be made, but you can loads of dosh to speed up the items building process.

The level 7 bug happened to me, and the mods actually posted "yeah well we don't care about it". So that should basicly tell you what the developers think about steam. Eventually via my own research I figured out how to get around the bug. But considering that most of the reviews of this game are saying the same error, the developers do not want to fix the bug.

Very poor and yes belive the reviews it really is that bad.

But on a sidenote:
the uninstall button works -- unlike the game and.....
that uninstall button is free -- Unlike the pay element of the game!

You're better off buying Settlers 6 on Steam or Settlers 2: 10th Anniversary on GOG(You'll save time, money, and enjoy them more.). Than these piece of crap browser games that will force you to give them your life savings just so you can skip ahead only to hit another paywall. If you don't cough up your savings then you better grab some popcorn. You'll be wasting a few years of your life.

Sidenote: The install button works. The game...not so much.

Get to level 7 and the questing system bugs and doesn't unlock halting your progression.

The response from Mods was to create a new account through browser and play through that. Well then what is the point of having the game on steam if you can't even play it past lvl 7?

i thought this game would be a online verson of the settlers and not one of those mobile games that the only goal is it earn money, i would acctually say that steam should remove games like this cause who the f whats to play ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile games on steam?

This is basicly a facebook game ... something like farmville, was hoping for some old school stuff. too bad

yep,despite the reviews,i played 25 hrs of this game anyway...24 3/4 of that time was waiting for ♥♥♥♥ to finish.stop putting browser games on steam! get out of my newsfeed!......does steam even care that we are PC gamers,not crap micro transaction/browser gamers?..........guess not..........

Its a game for your phone not your pc/Xbox/PS its just too much waiting you can't do much as well its just build build build and its soooooooo boring if you REALLY want to play it do it ONLY on your phone and ONLY on your phone

Dear Ubisoft, you have the rights to a game called The Settlers II, heres a thought, instead of trying to revitalize a dead brand, why not just bring out the best 1 out of the series, give it the full HD treatment like every other game company does, sit down and rake in the profits.

The Settlers (online) is a game!
Oh, its been so long since I can say that about a freemium game!
Yes it features city building fun and you can even get into fights every now and again.
Its nothing like the namesake of the series, if you liked the Settler games you will know to avoid this cash shop trash the same as every other cash shop freemium raping of beloved franchaises.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Settlers series or who just don't care, this game will certainly keep you busy. Not intently busy but more of a log in once or twice a day busy and check all the boxes that allow you to one day, have fun.

Yes this is a free to wait game and even paying real money, bizaarely, doesn't do all that much to help in that department. You will wait and wait and wait some more regardless of if you spend money or not. That aside the game does have gameplay to speak off and its piss poor but its better than many, many other pay2win games that are flooding our beloved Steam so I will give credit where it is due.

The game is mediocre, probabaly because everything takes a real life day or a real life week or a real life month to get done. Its like they took The Settlers and thought "what would happen if it took 24hrs to make troops instead of 24s?" and BAM, this game was born.

So there you go, The Settlers, download it, play it, get stuck, uninstall.

But there is a special spot in my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for one aspect of this game.
The moderators, oh god the moderators! They are unpaid volunteers so you would think they would be helpful and passionate right? Noooo, they loathe you! Not me, of course because I refuse to use the chat in this game for fear of being mauled, but sooner or later you are going to get stuck.

So what do you do? ask in general chat right? WRONG! That will get you your first warning.
Yeah, its one of those enviroments.
I won't say the mods are your worst nightmare but they really do seem to pride themselves in being on a powertrip. Its shocking really as chat becomes silent while p(l)ayers fear for their account being banned and the only conversation is another poor soul who dares reveal they are a newbie, thrown to the wolves.

Ubisoft, demote the free mods and just hire people instead. I know you won't, because you don't need too. People are happily paying money regardless. But I can dream can't I.

This is just terrible. PAY 2 WIN model, no fun, it's just a browser game where you have to wait X hours to have a building built or resources place founds. Waste of time...
