Recent sale good or bad for community?
In my opinion, these recent sales have not done much to bolster the playerbase.

I do not see an increase in numbers, in fact what I do see is alot of the veteran players staying away from the game as of late due to the influx of new players who bought the game for a dollar or two and don't care how they act in the game.

I've seen some good new players, I can't bash them all, some are quite good, real good in fact, but those are few and far between. But unfortunately, the majority of the 'humble bundle' deal players have done nothing but screw up the game. When the game went on sale and brought these players in, the griefing, mic spam, tking and just plain idiocy went through the roof.

Alot of veteran RO2/RS players have been gone from the game or have been playing alot less as of late due to the new players and the aforementioned detrimental attributes they bring to the game.

So, my question is, are all these sales good or bad for the game in the long run? What I see is no significant increase in the population, right around 1500 players in prime time, same as it was before the sales. However, I do know for a fact alot of veterans did leave the game to avoid the new players, and some of them I have not seen back since.

Is it a good idea to chase away the veteran players to grab some new players that were only willing to buy the game heavily discounted? Most of them play the game like they bought it for a buck; troll, grief, mic spam and generally act like an idiot until they get sick of it and delete the game and move on to another bargain bin game they can act a fool in, cuz why not? It's only a buck.......

Having veterans leave the game to avoid baddies is a terrible business practice. It's like having a high class pub and inviting in a bunch of trailer park bikers and after they have their fun and trash the place they leave, and so do your customers that frequented your establishment cuz they don't want to have to rub elbows with that garbage if they return.

I would like players, new and old to weigh in on this and tell us what you think please.

Me no likey getting auto-kicked from servers because a group of lemming-stupid team-mates decided to have a gang-bang on the satchel objective I'm blowing.

LOLOL, i hear ya.
Good or Bad?

I say both.

Lots of potentially capable fighters. Good.

Lots of potential "I am a spawnpoint" and L14 Squad and Team Leaders. Bad

First rule of leadership. Do not camp. And when you do camp, do so in CAP zone.

First rule of soldiership in Rising Storm: GET IN CAP. Hold or Capture objectives. Listen/Read what leaders or more experienced people are saying.

Most of all, try to learn from your/others mistakes. Nobody is perfect all the time. Accidents happen, say "np" to forgive accidental TKs and you are forgiven too.

Overall it is good, sure there have been a lot of annoyances but there have also been a lot of people really trying, the 1st round of sales aftermath I witnessed was really bad but since this last week it seems to be settling a little, as the new guys get used to things, yes many still need some lively encouragement, but my experiences have been more positive this last week. Even if I'm just looking through rose tinted specs new players means more exposure, and if you are a fan, then surely that's good thing.

Its good for the game, because it creates a financial incentive for tripwire to make more stuff for it. Noobs are annoying though.
Long term it should be good for the game. But short term it brings in cheaters, griefers, aholes, and noobs that take leadership roles for weapons.

Basically this. And then the noobs tell you "it's just a game we don't HAVE to win" No, we don't have to win, but if you're not trying join the other team so you can "Have fun".
I really hate how they always go like 1e trash sales with like 10000 new players for a while and then when things go back to normal theres another sale. Honestly i dont even know why i would buy a game for 30 euros anymore when its gona be 2-5e the next christmas.
The only 'veteran'( i use the term loosely) players who would stay away are non team players, and those with a short memory.
We all had to be new once and for most of those 'veterans' it was easier to start out ,as the game was new and they didnt have level 99s running round with level 50 mkbs(noob tubes) mowing them down.

Also there is an element of team play in the game which same 'veterans' dont use they hide in the same corner every map and snipe away with their smg. I see more new players helping the team than high levels.
We should also help teach the newer players the basics, like not shooting each other, and not to banzai a flamer.
I would say that about 10% of the new players are just trolling and tking but I notice very little difference when they have gone.
I say if you dont like new players get some friends and play with them instead, a game without new players become very stale indeed.
I hope this game dies very soon.

Why, if you can't play it, get over it and go play something else. I, like thousands of others have games we either can't play or don't work on our systems, it happens, grow up and stop being a pathetic ♥♥♥♥.
Just because you love playing half finished games, doesn't mean the rest of the world does.

I don't care, I want a refund for this pile of garbage.

Well if you live in a country that has good laws covering purchases over the internet and you can prove that you have not got what you paid for then you will be entitled to a refund. Take a steam support ticket out and make your point, you never know you might get your refund. I sent back BF3 successfully once because they hadn't fixed a bug that was over a year old and happened to affect my system, got my refund with no argument as I provided proof to back up my complaint. Get your refund if you are unhappy.
