how about setting the game in the Israel / Arab conflict?
im of course talking about the 1948 war that started one of the conrevesial conflicts in history.

sure, the war lasted just one year and the estimated loss of human life is about 130 thousend. but it was still an intense war.

it fits RO2 because everyone still used WWII weapons, British and German. (ak47's were not exported then to anyone) so it's a good opportunity to add british weapons like the Sten, Enfield and Bren
they could also add a nice veriety of handmade weapons that were very commonly used in this war, like molotovs and even throwing stones.

think about it, no FPS ever touched this conflict ever. woudln't it be cool to actually play one of the most contevesial wars in history and experience how it was?

Yeah we could call it the "Genocide Mod"

As always, my vote is for a Finn vs. Russian mod.
The only mod I know that is still in development for RO2 is In Country: Vietnam
yeah well, the problem with the finnish front is that it's way too damn similar to heroes of stalingrad for TWI to get out of their way to work for it.

they used german and russian weapons, had unifrom that looks very similiar to the german, and the climate is exactly like the one is russia, so apart from getting finnish voice actors and adding finnish badges and stuff, it won't really add much. so TWI will just leave it for the mods

unlike my idea that will take place in desert areas and tight urban areas. and new weapons will be introduced

oh boy. that is a very thin political line man.

yeah but in all seriousness it could work if the israelis could be armed with the latest military tech available, tanks, apcs, assault rifles, body armour etc... and the palestinians could have a choice of stones, sticks or even tennis balls.

Oh I thought you were talking about modders not TWI. Well, the Finns would have Finnish weapons.

I'm looking forward to the Vietnam mod.

oh yeah, and genocide and horrors of WWII are totally free of contreversy eh?

The second world war lies years back. There were political debates about the second world war, reperations for genocides. i dont think that jews and arabs would be happy about something like this. the conflict is still going on.
If you want to see the conflict in game, get thy modding hat on.
In Country Vietnam can't get here soon enough.

they 1948 war was also years back. i broght the idea up because the setting is very similar to RO2 and it would be really awesome if a game deleveloper actually made a game about it.

well, i guess valve did conflict in CS:GO but it's very far from being an actual war, and it's set in the modern times
Bad idea. This is an ongoing conflict, so why rub salt in wounds. Bad marketing for a game sold internationally. Don't particularly like Vietnam games either; served; thus not an abstraction. Korea and back are far enough in time to be abstractions to the current market, but Arab-Israeli has never ended, and it is perpetually nasty. I don't know about FPS's doing this.
I rather play a Korean War mod than middle east bs.
For the Middle East, there's Insurgency.

the 1948 war ended in 1949 that part of the conflict is long done and shouldn't bring any contrevesy
