Steam link not accepting controller input
I just got a Razer Kishi and wanted to play on steam link. Only to find that it isn't working on steam link. Naturally I tried other controllers. I tried (via bluetooth) xbox one s controller and xbox series x controller. I tried going to the settings and test controllers. They register in the menu, but when I try to test them no input registers. I tried to edit them and still nothing registers. TLDR controllers show in menu but won't show input.

I should also mention that I am using Samsung S20 Ultra with Android 11. Also that I used a controller testing app that read all the inputs perfectly. I also had similar issues with the Moonlight app.

I have this same issue with my S20 Ultra and Samsung TV. The controllers connect but no inputs work. Have tried the PS4 and Switch Pro controller. Wired connections work but never wireless. It's very frustrating.

Same issue on Note 20 Ultra.
But it works perfectly on my brother's Note 20 Ultra.
So I don't know what the problem is.

I had the same problem until I found a reddit post saying to turn off installed services in the phones accessibilty settings. I had lastpass and anydesk enabled, turned anydesk off and now every thing is working. Seems to be an android problem.

I had an auto clicker for idle games. I disabled it and it all magically started working. Thank you so much.

OMG! Thanks! I had Autoinput for Tasker set in accessibility. Disabling it fixed the issue!

I'm having a similar issue. The controller works fine navigating the menus in big picture but acts like a keyboard and mouse in the games instead of a controller. I've tried tweaking all kinds of settings, two different android devices and both bluetooth and a wired connection to the controller.

Same issue on a Poco X3 Pro with Android11/MiUI12, the controller shows up in Steam Link, but no inputs get registered. Controller works in other games and in the Android UI itself, also works on the SteamLink TV box. Seems SteamLink has some incompatibilities with Android11.

Thank you! This was my problem too. I was running KDE Connect.

It's less that it's Android 11, per se, and more that some accessibility/automation tools will slurp in controller inputs to tweak them. And then instead of generating another *hardware* device, it will just generate system events; i.e., instead of "this joystick's axis values are X, Y, where X means it is pointing slightly left" you get a "navigate item left" event.

Which is fine in things that use controllers for navigating the Android UI, where "navigate left one item" is a meaningful event... but for anything that tries to get access to the controller to get joystick axis values, see a difference between joystick and d-pad navigation, etc.? Well, those can't find the controller, because the other program has already grabbed that controller and said "this is all mine" down at the accessibility layer.

I am having issues with a Samsung Galaxy 10e, and a PS4 controller.
I have two different PS4 controllers wirelessly linked, one into my PC and one into my Android ( BUT NOT AT The SAME TIME ).

Steam Link perfectly recognizes my PS4 Android controller and it works just fine in the Test screen ( buttons and joysticks ). But when I connect the Steam Link, and I am in Steam Big picture mode the only inputs that the mobile recognizes are the buttons. At the same time the mobile offers me the tactile screen control mode on and when I move into Big Picture config my Android PS4 controller is not there.

I have disconnected the accessibility services in my android settings but same the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Disabling "One hand mode" fixed it for me on Poco X3 Pro.

Hey guys,
I've dealt with the problem you described here. I had the same problems, so that the Kishi is not recognized by Steamlink and so on...

First you have to download the Razer Kishi App from the Playstore.
Then update the version in the app.

The next step is to select and add the Steamlink app under "add new game" in the app.

Now close the Kishi app and look for the developer options in your phone settings.
(If you haven't activated it yet, see how to activate it on your phone.)
Activate USB debugging there and you're done.

Now Steamlink should also be playable via the Kishi (^^)/

Unfortunately this also doesn't work for me. Exactly the same problems as before. Really not sure what else to try :(
