Steam Link
Third Party Xbox One wired controllers will not work - MS ONLY
Title

I just went through a hair pulling experience to find that my gamestop Xbox One controller
doesn't work right with STEAM Link.

So I'm starting this thread for those who fit this category that simply +! and put the manufacturer
of your controller and the model to the right. Hopefully, STEAM will pick up the thread sticky it so they can add driver support in a future update.

For now only a Microsoft made and manufactured Xbox One controller that is WIRED will work. Wireless recevier that is only for Windows 10 is not supported and neither is third party Xbox One controlers as I just discovered.

My Xbox One controler that doesn't work (flashing white light - detected but doesn't respond)
Manufacturer: PowerA
Model Spectra Controller
Purchased: Gamestop

Please post +! and Manufacturer, Model and lets get alist going. and cross our fingers they add suport.

not to be unhelpful but valve has been pretty clear about what controllers it supports. From the store page, and I think the manual too. They don't mention third-party controller support anywhere unfortunately:

Supports Steam Controller (sold separately,) Xbox One or 360 Wired Controller, Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710, or keyboard and mouse.

And on a side note you mentioned your not being helpful.
I might add to it that your also being quite ridiculous. I am really unsure if your being serious or trolling. Either way I hope you now understand. Otherwise the STEAM LINK is going to fail prettyhard in the market.

Thanks for wasting the space of what hte intended post is to be about.
Next time I urge you to read and comprehend before just replying as the post is meant to hELP. Thanks! If you want to contineun the conservation offline fine. If you want to derai lthe thread then Ill take it up with the moderators. I cant stand trolls. Your post is ridiculous as your trying to speak for Valve on their interpretations. I would advise you not do that as you have no legal ground nor authoritiy to speak for them and what they mean by there manual and text. How that for clear mate.....no move along and find another thread to derail and allow Valves REAL CUSTOMERS who paid money to request help from them. Which they more than likeyl will do as opposed to your godly bullhorn that speaks for them.

With all that said if you have nothing more to add then let the thread help those that need Xbox One wired support where their controller isn't being detected properly. Let Valve be the one to say we only suport MICROSOFT, By the way in your endeavor to be "smart" you forgot that none of the text mnetions a manufacturer for Xbox One controllers O_o. Clap clap clap. I guess your definition of "CLEAR" cane out on perhaps opposites day?" I don't know if there is a day like then but for your benefit we will make one just to give you a little praise to make yourself feel better that you tried to be smart and insulting and raise social discord on the internet today. In other words out of all this diatribe I meant to say...........MOVE ON TROLL BAIT but I like to eat you for breakfast today. chomp chomp
