Valve should do a better job of communicating shipping delays
I purchased a steam link and controller when it was on sale the week of Thanksgiving. I waited a week before contacting support to find out why I hadn't received a notice that it had been shipped. They responded with a boiler plate message saying something about the sale driving high demand and their "carrier" is having problems responding. I understand these kinds of delays, but it would be nice if Valve would send out a message to those affected. They are still saying they can't give me an estimated date for when they will ship. That seems like a very basic thing to expect. Number of purchases divided by average daily shipments, and maybe factor in shipping time to get new hardware if they ran out. If their carrier can't provide those estimates maybe they should look at finding a new company to work with.
