can we please get check boxes that enable/disable the wifi and bluetooth? first it was bluetooth's blueborne now its wifi krack ... for those of us that are hard wired and/or do not use bluetooth devices, disabling wifi and/or bluetooth is far more secure than a patch.

I don't know since when this bugs happens, but steam doesn't support the old Win32_API for gamepads anymore (no input recognized) and direct input have mixed controller ids.

how to update to this version?
I'm on build 640. Using the "Switch to [public/beta] build" menu says always "No updates available".

The manual update instructions are here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3966-EFLV-7805

Before doing that though, check the link's advanced network settings and make sure it's set to dhcp. If it's on static, set it to dhcp then power the link off and unplug it for 5 seconds, then plug it back in and try the public/beta button again. I've noticed that if my link is set to static instead of dhcp on the link's advanced network settings page, it won't auto-update and the public/beta button finds no updates.

I also encountered this. Checking updates after switching to beta build also resulted in "No updates available".

Follow the instructions of Xenophobe's comment.
It worked for me just fine.

@slouken Sup, I assume that you are a developper on the Steam Link build and I have a feature request i'd like to share with you.

Can you please add a new function to auto-connect on Steam Link start-up to a computer? Implementation could look like an option to "Add this computer to Auto-connect on Start-up" in the "Start Playing" tab?

That way, as soon as you fire you're Steam Link, you are already on you're PC without ever seeing the Steam Link interface, and if you need to go to the Steam Link setting you can just hit "Stop Streaming" on Steam on the remote PC and go to the Steam Link setting.

I've been craving for such a feature since 1-2 years.

A couple of years in and still can't play Minecraft Win10 edition without having to bend over backwards to get a controller working. Who cares about niche games like minecraft, right?

In this build Xbox 360 controllers show as "Xinput controllers" and in some game it doesn't show the xbox button icons.

Minecraft Win10 edition is pure trash built on top of UWP (universal windows platform) which if you were a true PC gamer with half a brain you would have never got that version in the 1st place and stick with the good old Minecraft true win32 PC game. UWP is Games For Windows Live 2.0, except worse in every imaginable way and you should not support or embrace it in any way if you care a little about the futur of PC gaming.

I don't like the suggestion about Auto Connecting to STEAM apon STEAM Link turn on...

I have two computers connected to STEAM Link... & it would be a pain if I have to stop streaming

everytime I want to go to another Computer for streaming...

On top of that, if it always auto connects to steam on one computer, what if that computer is

turned off? Will the Steam Link still continue to try & connect to it?

That would be bad if the computer were to stop working...

I dun like this feature, I like how the steam link starts up to the Steam Link Menu...

First...

if they add the auto-connect feature, i hope they make it optional

and steam link can use wol (wake on lan) to turn on the host pc if its enabled on the pc
