Home button and Steam chords
When I'm trying to adjust the volume or alt-tab with a chord the controller will often shut down because the home button is being held. Is there a way to disable that feature? I use home+Y to shut my controller down because it's faster than holding down the home button, can I make the home button stop turning the controller off?

I don't believe so.

That shouldn't happen, but i also don't think there's a way to disable long press shutdown feature either.

I agree that it shouldn't happen. But it does and it's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aggravating. I don't understand why they didn't add a simple option to disable the power function if they were going to add a feature that requires holding down the button that turns off the controller if you hold it down.

I know, but what are you gonna do? It is what it is.

Try not pressing the button that long, mine takes forever to shutdown while holding the button and sometimes doesn't even shut down at all.

I think it's dependant on the Steam version, sometimes it breaks, sometimes it works fine.
You can try opting into Steam beta and see if it's better or not.

But that's all i can think of.

I'm already in the beta, maybe I'll try rolling it back. I can't really press it any less, if I need a chord I need it until I don't anymore, y'know? I'm not just holding the button down for fun :) sometimes it just takes more than 5 seconds to find the right volume level I guess. Thanks for your info and advice just the same!

Yeah, then try rolling back, maybe it changes something. Nothing to lose with that anyway.

And i meant, release the button now and then, don't just hold it and adjust the volume. Hold it to adjust volume up a few times. Release and listen, then adjust again etc.

It's annoying i know, but might be a "fix" for your issue if you just retrain yourself how you use the chords in absence of a better solution.

Anyway. Good luck, and if nothing else, i think you can contact steam somewhere and write some recommendations about it i guess. Maybe they'll read it. I think this forum used to have such a section but not anymore, not sure.

Cheers!
