Keep crashing when world generation.

After creating character (or just choose quick start) then step of generating world, game just crashed.

Already tried delete and re-install, verifying file, restarting window. No mod used.
Any help?

What OS are you using? Perhaps try running the program as admin, in legacy mode for windows 7?
I'm using windows 7, haven't had this happen.

Try turning on full screen, it helped me.
But I still don't know what's going on in this game

LoL, I've got quite a few hours into the game... and I'm still "figuring it out".
Kinda like life. This game is pretty damned realistic.

Using Windows 10, it just worked fine though.. i did alt+f4 when character creation then this crash keep happened..

ok, so you will need to go to: > program files > steam apps > common > Unreal World

Look for a file or files with your character name, and look for a file that is labeled Ancestors.
Completely delete your character files, and make sure the ancestors file is also empty.

Then restart the game. This might fix the problem for you.

Because you used alt+f4 during a loading/save sequence, it probably "corrupted" your save files.
Now, that you know the character file location, if you feel like "save scumming", you can copy/paste that character file (once it isn't broken anymore), to your desktop or some other quick location. If you die, copy/paste the character file back into place, and viola, you are save scumming.

theres no Ancestors folder in Steam\steamapps\common\UnRealWorld, also not in character name folder. In character name folder theres 2 files named "init_log.txt" and "portrait.png"

tried make Ancestors folder in Steam\steamapps\common\UnRealWorld, nothing changed.

in Steam\steamapps\common\UnRealWorld\Character Name folder exist, theres no character when i choose 'Load saved character' in main menu.

One sec, I am uploading a screenshot to help us solve this. I think the problem is like I said. The Character file is corrupted. So you just need to completely delete the character file, and the ancestors (to be safe), then restart the game.

So basically, follow that path in solid red (may be slightly different your location), then just completely delete the Ancestors and "Character Name" files. In my case, it would be the file that is in all caps, called Zyx.

Then restart game, and recreate the character. Make sure to go through all the steps, until you come "into" the new UnReal World, where you can Escape key and save like we are supposed to.

I've had this happen to me at least twice, where Alt+f4, when it forces the game to close, corrupts the two file locations. The developers told me to try this fix, and it worked for me. I hope it works for you.

I think... the "problem" lies in how a lot of gamers (like myself), when presented with a Rouge Like character/map generator, sometimes Alt+F4 when we didn't like something, so we could start back a step or two. We just can't do that in/on this game, at least not yet. If you find you don't like the sets of rolls that you got (character, spells, map, etc), then just run around doing things that you normally would not try. See how far you can swim, see how it is to fight a bear, etc etc... then when you die, just use what you learn in the next round.

I've probably died about a million times now. Death is just a part of learning the game. Accept it with open arms and you will learn how to not die faster.
