How to get the Hafting menu back using the BAC mod
The BAC mod unfortunately overlaps the new hafting tool from the vanilla game. This wouldn't be a problem except that you kind of now need the hafting tool!

There is allegedly a work around, but of course the person who says that only tells me how simple it is, but won't tell me how to do it.

If you know the work around, and I can get it to work, I would seriously be grateful.

Kitten... its actually that the vanilla update overlapped BAC. Efforts to co-ordinate or broader menu solutions with the devs was requested and dismissed.

Go read the Unreal forum mod thread

https://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=7176.30

The mod was updated to 3.82 and broken by 3.83 which a work around is in that thread. Its broken again by 3.84 and will continue to be broken by further updates.

Currently if you want to use our mod use 3.82 or 3.83 workaround and probably need to turn off the steam updates before you updated to 3.84

I get it. "Not my fault. So don't complain to me that it doesn't work."

BTW I found a workaround because I asked a few modders (not just you) to post up a solution.

Yes, asking in various places can and does yield a solution. Who would have thought?

I wonder if kitten realized he was being rude to the guy who made the mod in the first place?

You don't have to use the mod.

His sort of passive aggressive insults is a contributing factor in holding off in updating the mod.

If its such a big insistince to kitten to have answers you'd thin he would have put them here himself but he didn't.

Steam was only a place to announce where to get info on the mod.

No rescources are currently attached to updating to 3.84 nor in provding support on steam.

Also... since it didn't get posted by the guy going on how he had to find it... the solution for 3.83 remains at the link originally posted by myself
https://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=7176.30

Currently no mod updating is planned for 3.84. look at the other forums for any news about that.

In the meantime, my question still stands: is there a solution to my problem?

The answer is yes! And I'll be posting the solution soon!

In fact, I'll be building a few of my own Mods soon, as researching this issue allowed me to learn so much how this game works and how to construct mods. I appreciate the maker of the mod being as he is (trying to calling me out instead of answering my questions) and politely saying that no one who has trouble with his mod should be using it. ;)

Go ahead.

For those who can't follow links:

add a // at the beginning of the relevant line in the menudef_BAC.txt where you see
.Hide and Bone. -H- *MAKE*
. It will look like
// .Hide and Bone. -H- *MAKE*
. This will comment that lien out.

or change the -H- to a different letter, for example a menu you don't really use, for example F. Then comment the other line with that letter out by adding a // at the start.
For those who are little like "Okay nice, but I have no idea what you're saying, Brygum. Where the hell is any of that?!"

You need to go into the Steam folder where the Unreal World application is. There is a folder there that is labeled menudef_BAC.txt

He's saying just to disable it.

And most players are on Steam! Just sayin'.

And most modders are on the those forums.

There isn't even a steam "Workshop" for this game.

Be that as it may, those who purchase the game are on Steam. And naturally they are going to look for answers on forums they already have access to. That's just human nature.

Which is why there was a link put here for them to learn about a mod at place where it had support. Which isn't on Steam.

Is there really such a need to bicker like this? Put the ego away and just apologize and move on, life is too short to get caught up in petty arguing.

Kitten: You started by being snarky, don't come crying when people become irritated with you and talk back.

Brygun: I get the irritation, especially regarding your own projects, but next time just ignore or flag a moderator if you feel like it was too far out of line.

I'm going to lock this, if you'd like to make a new thread discussing how to get the mod to work on current version please feel free!
