Its an old bug which has plauged the ID engine for years, Rage and TNO both sufferd from exactly the same issues. FTR i haven't even played the game yet :P

to point at my RAID5 hdd array where even all the steam games are stored. : )
However disabling cuda fixed the weird texture popups for me finally.
Tried all the above, but there we're no files in the folder after I ran the game, still getting these textures issues:

not for me but I'm on windows10 maybe cause of the beta drivers, once I had a blue screen displaying DRIVER_STACK_OVERFLOW
