I've been trying to reach out to DelkoDuck to talk about his situation.
and from some misconceptions he seems to have regarding ownership of code and how it implicates when someone hands over code.

You do not need to start from scratch, this only would happen if you try to take the game away from what is the owners of the code. sometimes this is a person, or an entitity.
you do not need to do any of that if you just hire or pull in a second developer.

if need be, I am willing to step in and talk to you about logistics, programming and other facilities to getting the game out there. even join the team if you are willing. I have the time, I have been a solid coder for C# and Node.JS for some time now.
