Check your system for any damage files and scan for threats since both can cause unwanted data lost. Update drivers and throughly do chkdsk to make sure everything is health overall. Due keep in mind it may take many attempts to clean everything. Signs of progress will be the system going through steps in a fast pace with number/number. Once you notice how quickly steps are advancing you will have a good idea how long each attempt will be.
To do this go to command prompt right click to select administrator and type chkdsk /f or /r or both.
Every use of the computer builds up overtime and it can quickly cause unwanted changes this applies to games too. It can fix tons of stuff. Every computer has this function and its user friendly for the most part.
