Again, many of you have played with a broken build, and refuse to accept that your perspective is horribly skewed by that experience. It's pointless to try to talk sense to some anymore. They are just not going to let it go. They were given too much, and now they are angry that it was taken away, and not being objective. It's a form of being spoilled :(
Take heart though, lots of whiners so they will probably change it...for now anyway.
Wow. It's like you didn't read the post at all. OP said that they CANNOT defend their pack dinos, not WILL NOT. Until performance is better optimized, it's not unfair to consider beefing up...
...Why are we even having this debate? This is about singleplayer. People should be able to play SP however they want. It doesn't effect you. You can play with as little weight capacity as you feel makes the game challenging and fun. Forum's full of elitists faffing about and being closed minded trying to dictate to others. Really shows you who's out of school for summer.
Well, for there to be a reasonable discussion, you have to be likewise able to approach things from another perspective and not just your own. The bug, having not been mentioned as a bug by the devs, was perceived as a feature to make single-player as accessible as multiplayer due to not having a tribe to help fetch and carry, or help you train dinos. As it was revealed to be a bug, removing it has shown there to be a weakness in singleplayer that needs attention.
Either there needs to be an increase in carry weight in SP, a decrease in dino training time, an increase in carry weight per level, or a decrease in the weight of items. Or some other solution that hasn't occurred to anyone yet. Tedium for tedium's sake is just poor design.
Go play minecraft if you don't want dinos to carry your greed around.
Are you perhaps mentally challenged? Do you not understand that people have already levelled and cannot respec their characters? How about you be less of a snot.
Now, what I'd propose would be some system where servers/single player can set up a 'base' set of attributes, so when you spawn in you have something like 1000 weight limit and 300 health with 150% movement speed or something.
Was it not possible to increase the weight limit when these players leveled up?
Anyhow as colonel_eviscerator pointed out, and something that made perfect sense is that A) It wasn't known as a bug, so people playing SP thought it was the norm, and now can't respec.B) Some people actually prefer playing SP, so don't come a long and be a dickwaffle yourself. Elitist bs isn't needed. I do think a little compromise is needed, Or when modding is open to us all this may fix how much control we will have over this.
It was certainly possible, but given how people had 1000 limit and it was not known to be a bug, they didnt see the need to increase their carry limit and as such spent those points elsewhere.
And since they cant respec they are stuck with a to them almost nonexistent carry limit.
As someone who just started playing I can certainly increase the limit when leveling up, but it still made it even more difficult than before for me to survive in the early game since I need to carry everything with me.
Stones, Hides, Wood, Meat, etc weighs quite a bit, and I need to gather quite a lot of some of those items to survive
Then there are the spears, that I need to hunt, as its the only useful hunting tool early on.
Given how quickly the spears break and that I have to throw them to not get killed by some of the more hostile dinos like the Dilo, I have to carry multiple spears just to survive.
With a weight of 6 per spear that puts a severe limit on my carry capacity and as such my ability to survive.
And I cant use Dinos for mules yet as I have yet to tame a Dino, given that I havent gotten past lvl 6 yet I'm not sure I can tame dinos yet even.
