Patch Notes: Current (171.7) & Upcoming (171.8 - ETA June 7)
Upcoming Version:
171.8
- Increased the yield of metal ore gained from metal-type rocks with non-metal tools by 3x.
- Increased the number of metal-bearing rocks in mountains/summits by a ton - hundreds and hundreds of rocks added.
- Mountain-rocks which yield metal now also yield Obsidian at a reduced rate.
These got pushed back for now!

Current Version:
171.7
- Q in the Inventory Menu toggles Item Text Overlay Mode, which will remove all the non-critical text overlays from the item icons, such as name, type, etc.
- Fixed numerous server and client-side crashes.
- Fixed getting your body or tribe taken over by someone else -- no more Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
- You can now search for sessions "by name" within the In-Game Browser UI
- Changed coordinates on Map Marker placement to Latitude First, Longitude Second, as it should be!
- Fixed -nomansky option which you can also access via the game's Steam Launch Options to properly not initialize the dynamic sky system. Use this launch option if you're getting video driver crashes, and it'll resolve them! however your sky system will be simpler, for now.
- No longer lose performance after singleplayer savegame loads! Still needs more testing for possible side-effects!
- Added LAN support. LAN games will now appear on the server browser via the server filter type dropdown. Happy LAN gaming!
- Fixed Server Download Dino crash and prevented losing uploaded dinos.
- Players now have to breathe when submerged in water, and on a dino.
- Arrows will no longer phase through all solid objects and hit people on the other side.
- Crops will now take an extremely long time to spoil if they are watered and fertilized correctly.
- Crop yield is now 2x.
- Structures now have 50% increase damage resistance globally.

171.6
- Unofficial Servers would crash if they had Dinos downloaded to them, at an Obelisk, in some cases. Server Admins should update to get this fix.
- XP glitch that resets your Survivor XP to your Mounts' XP is now fixed, however will require that servers are updated to 171.6 to get this. To avoid this until your server is updated, be sure to Earn some/any XP on your Survivor after disembarking your mount.
- Parasaur Founder's Saddle Skin now shows correct icon when applied to the Parasaur Saddle
- Client connection timeout is now 30s rather than 20s
- Slight performance improvement to calculation of particle LODs

171.5
- PIN codes now work properly on Doors, and also have been enabled on Small and Large Storage Boxes. Note your Tribe does not have to use the PIN codes, but this will prevent non-TribeMembers from accessing those functions. However, if the container is destroyed, it drops the contents anyway of course.

- Server Admin Passwords are working again, both from "ServerPassword" key in the "ServerSettings" section of the INI, and via commandline. Sorry about that, server admins!!!!

- Resolved error with sky rendererer that would cause some players to crash or ock at the end of the loading process when connecting into a game.

- You can now upload Character & Dino Data from Tribute Terminals on Official Servers.
However note these data can only be Downloaded onto Local or Unofficial Servers, for now.

- Removed the "suicide" command. It was for testing only and is not a realistic thing. If you fall into a cavern and are gonna die of starvation, do what this guy does instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlhLOWTnVoQ

- Fixed invisible ocean caverns

- Improved loading feedback to not have any temporary black/screen / possible lock between loading the initial gamedata and connecting to server. Should now be seamless.

171.4
- Fixed some remaining blackscreen/connection cases!

171.31
- Minor hotfix increases the number of structures allowed within a radius from 800 to 1400. May increase it further in subsequent builds as we scale perf up.

Thanks for all the patches devs!

I am getting black screen of death again at 171.5 when trying to join multiplayer. I have to go so cannot try 171.6 right now bit did not seem like any of those updates would help.

in 171.4 I didn't get black screen. It loaded character creation screen then my graphics card crashed despite having updated drivers. (I figured it was progress) but now it has reverted back to black screen.

Maybe it was a one time occurrence, though, so I will try more tomorrow

Well done! Could someone maybe fix the main menus mouse accuracy issue? It seems like my mouse doesn't align properly with the menu tabs.

When the performance loss on singleplayer load is fixed will we have to delete our old worlds one more time or will the fix work without doing so?
Tongo Jun 7, 2015 @ 12:41am

So how much fps you got before the patch?
Aegal Jun 7, 2015 @ 12:42am
Buddy of mine is still getting black screens upon loading into servers. So they're still not fixed.

Ok, I just want to give some feedback that will be seen as negative, and could get me flamed, but I really want to ask you guys to change somethning here.

I've been watching patches all night, hoping to see the single player performance fix. Now this is not a complaint about it not being done yet, as much as .. you are falsely stating when it's coming, repeatedly.

It was originally slated for like 171.4 or something. Since then, each time a new patch comes, it moves up to the next planned patch. 171.4 came, it moves to 171.5. 171.5 comes, it moves to 171.6, etc.

Again, I understand if it's taking longer than expected to fix. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been watching closely, based solely on the specific plans listed here, for it to come.. Again, *only having any expectations due to your own statements in these threads*. Not any impatience or entitlement. Watching the stated plans, and seeing them keep changing.

I mean.. it seems you really should stop claiming it's coming in the next patch over and over, and then not delivering. Or give some kind of explanation.

Please, give us a break and tell us a realistic time table.

edit: I see now you added that it needs more testing. Ok, thanks, sorry for complaining. I love the game.

I think they really do keep thinking it will be ready and then realizing at the last minute or so that there are still more black screen bugs or such that take more time. There isn't really a good balance for this. What would you suggest as a better system for giving estimated release times, just curious?

Update your PC or stop play Singleplayer.
Find some unofficial server and play normal 30-50 fps.
