New ServerSettings INI section, new options!
Hey all,

Our apologies, we forgot to let all our server admins know in advance that the formatting of the Server INI sections would be changing. Here is the new format for the INI in your WindowsServer\GameUserSettings.ini, please update your INI's accordingly and you shouldn't have any further issues:

[ServerSettings]
ShowMapPlayerLocation=False
ServerHardcore=False
GlobalVoiceChat=False
ProximityChat=False
NoTributeDownloads=Fasle
AllowThirdPersonPlayer=False
AlwaysNotifyPlayerLeft=Fasle
DontAlwaysNotifyPlayerJoined=False
ServerHardcore=False
ServerPVE=False
ServerCrosshair=False
ServerForceNoHUD=False
ServerPassword=
ServerAdminPassword=
DifficultyOffset=0 to 1

(DifficultyOffset is a new value that will let you scale the difficulty. It is currently clamped 0 to 1 but we may remove the clamp later. At 1, the creatures and loot will scale by a factor of approximately 3x, at 0 it will be approximately 50%)

Also if you want to pass values via commandline, they are now formatted like so:
?ServerHardcore=true

We're gonna start a special forum or method of communicating with the network of ARK server admins to get you guys this kind of info in advance of new releases. Just haven't figured out that exact method yet, any suggestions? :)

You could make a steam group for admins and add notifications in there.
Any news on when RCON is coming?

this is nice but alot of owner inculding me
are looking for some kind of meanu or easier way to get into cheat without enabling it for other's like nice menu for kick/ban message of the day message to tell players when server goining to restart. just the standard stuff stuff admin panel needs.
A steam group for admins seems reasonable. Would love some news on RCON support as well.

When to do the optimization of the configuration of the middle is still unable to play
Mailing list would be the best. Pretty much any thing that I can sign up that alerts us of new content.

Especially for patch drops.
So we either choose 0 or 1? For server difficulty or include the whole thing?

DifficultyOffset=0 to 1

That could also read that if we want normal it should be:

DifficultyOffset=0.5

More explanation please.
DifficultyOffset=0 to 1

what should we set that to to keep it the way it was?
I recommend what TripWire does for KF2 and RO2 for quick messages to Server Admins. They have a email mailing list serveradmins[at]list.tripwireinteractive[dot]com
