Game crashing in inventory
Guys i have a problem with game crashing randomly, but only when inventory is open.
Problem is it crashes so hard that i have to restart my whole PC, task manager or anything else just doesn't work, so i can't provide any logs or dumps.
Anyone got any idea for solution?

I also have this issue with the game crashing in the inventory. Seems to happen more often when I am the only person on the server.

Bit of a necro post.

What are your system specs? If you have your inventory selected to show names of all items, it could be causing you to crash if you are barely reaching minimum requirements.
if you can open it long enough, deselect "show names". I forget the command, but its listed at the bottom of your inventory for options.

I was having this problem too, but I found a solution to it. If you're using Nvidia, try rolling back to version 355.98 http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/91806/en-us

A lot of people that were having this issue suggested this and they all said it fixed the inventory crash issue.

Bump/confirm.

Just installed this driver, made the game playable again. Hooray!

Big props to Scraner for not being another "get a better videocard" turd guzzler.

Right, I know for a fact this issue wasn't caused for having an old graphics card. I noticed some people that had even the newest Nvidia cards were having this same issue. That being the case, we're going to have to wait for either the developers of ARK to patch, or Nvidia to update.

Until then just use the link to download the rollback driver to your computer. I would strongly suggest saving this to your computer so you can always rollback just to play ARK. I have to update just to use my Oculus Rift for some games.

Anyway, I'm glad you're able to play again, good luck out there! :steamhappy:

I have been unable to play the game since I purchased it 2 weeks ago. As soon as I'd open the inventory, the game would hang, and graphics drivers would tank. Installed v355.98, and I've just played for four hours straight.

Thanks, all!

Oh this doesn't work for Windows 10, at least at the time you posted this response? Good to know, becaues I was using Windows 7 64bit. However I decided to give Windows 10 a try, if the problem happens again, I'll try this, thank you for this information.

I had this happen once. Turned off 'High Quality Materials" in the options and it's never happened again. Didn't know about this driver rollback at the time.

I've only noticed inventory related crashes when moving large quantities of inventory.

It litterally happend the moment you pressed the button to open any invintory. For me it wasn't every time, but it happend way too much.
