How to kill alpha raptors?
Recently i've been having trouble with an alpha raptor lingering too far towards my base. i understand they're alpha and they do a ton of damage with a lot of health, but ive been playing solo and this one level 21 raptors been doing noting but terrorizing and killing all my dinos. it killed the stego i was trying to tame in three seconds flat and destroyed my pteradon, mammoth, and trike. ive had to run back to get my stuff 3 times within 15 minutes because of this one raptor.

I kite them to a cliff and shoot them, or have a buddy hold me in the air with her argent while I kill them ( the latter method works for anything)
If you are just looking to get rid of it, agro it while mounted on a bird and drag it into deep water. It will chase you until its stamina runs out then sink to the bottom and drown.

Well, that might be a bit of a problem. currently i'm a level 26, and my only flying dino just died. The alpha raptor is currently guarding all my arrows and narcotics, and it killed my main way of gathering berries.

Would trying this method with a turtle also work? or would it be too risky?
At level 26 and no upper level weaponry your best bet in my opinion is to run like hell and try to drag it away from the area your living in. Keep running till it catches you and you die so you can respawn back home...or you might get lucky and make it agro something else so you can get away.
for now your best bet is to try and lure him away from your camp and hopefully it stays there while you tame yourself something strong enough to kill it .

A mammoth with at least 5000 health and 300% or more damage could probably kill any alpha raptors . The knock back will keep the raptor from successfully hitting you everytime .

Or a high level trike could probably do it . Or a medium lvl Anky also .

But you have to be riding your animals if you want them to have the best chance of killing Alphas . If you`re not riding them they`ll most likely lose . Just hop on it and give it everything you got . Don`t try to run because if you do , you`re giving the raptor the advantage . It`s a fight to the death .

You would probably be dead long before the water...way too slow. I could see maybe a sabertooth.
just get on your trex and go kill all the alpha carnos and raptors on your ark :) tough without a buddy on a rex to kill the A-Rex but yea

The raptor is on the shore. and my turtle is already positioned half way in the water. but i believe i got the raptor far away enough for now. ive also retrieved my stuff, so thats a plus. thank you for the tips guys.

I dont own a rex.
Go naked and run away to lure it away from your base to other wild dinos so its distracted with them
Large traps are useful as well.
Train a swarm of Dimorphodons, 5-6 is a good number. they're quick to train, hard to hit in combat and hit like a truck.

If you have an Alpha near your base, set the Dimorphodons on them. Problem solved!

I tried to trap it, but nothing happened. Should I use a small trap?
You can easily kill an alpha raptor on a trike. Keep it in front you and use the trike's knockback ability, this will nulify the raptors high attack rate.
I'd say try to lure it away. I had a level 20 rex, a level 25 argent, two level 20 raptors, a level 40 raptor, and a level 20 saber go up against a level 14 alpha raptor. I lost the two level 20 raptors and my saber cat to it before it died. They're tough as nails.
Maybe try the tactic with the dimorphodons too. A handful of them would be hard for it to hit. And you can stand back and take pot shots while they keep it busy.
