Do supply drops despawn after some time or do they remain until taken or if another one appears in that location?

I'm pretty sure they are destroyed after being left for like 5-10 mins

If you go up next to one and mouse over it there will be a #/100 on the info popup. That is the decay timer. It'll tick down 10 points at a time. Sorry I don't know how long it takes to get to zero.

They also have two animation phases. The first will be a floating orb with a beam as the drop falls. The second the orb dissapears and only the beam is left. This let's you know from a distance if you will be able to make it in time.
