mass item storage consolidation.

hey everyone, hopefuly this gets bumped for consideration, i assume the type of people who play ark and other open world sandbox survival games might be the same who play minecraft.

so i think that maybe one game can take hints from another games modding comunity.

my idea being implemting an endgame storage network almost akin to the applied energistics 2 mod for minecraft.

"Applied Energistics 2 is a mod that focuses on creating a compact, easily accessible, considerably extendible storage system called an ME Network. The "ME" in the title stands for "Matter <-> Energy" -- the premise being that items added to the system are converted into energy and stored in a digital form before needing to be used again, whereupon they are converted back into matter"

a system where items are stored on digital drives that can be acsessed from multiple areas around a large base without having to run from storage box to storage box looking for items.

think about a server network with files on it. you can put files on from any computer and remove them from any computer.

now instead of files, they are items stored in hard drives.

Actually it could kinda fit the tech tier, yeah. Using the alien technology and all...after all we upload dinos into a computer network right now at obelisks, so it's not a stretch to think of a similar system being employed on a smaller scale in someone's base.

In the context of Ark it would have to be endgame though, to keep it balanced...definitely tech tier and not before I'd say.

So what becomes the purpose of raiding storage boxes if there's nothing to loot in pvp? As you said they become digital items accessible anywhere.

you would steal the hard drives i suppose. or go through the process of emptyine out the terminal if you don't have a network at base.
