Ragnarok base location, recommendations?
First I want to point out that, I am not one of the people who you would lable, "Lazy", when it comes to searching for information on things prior to, asking. I've done research, and watched several YouTube videos on, "Best/Good Rag Base Locations". and 90% or more of them are, "Build in this cave", sort of content. While caves are amazing, and I understand the reasoning behind them being, "Best", they're just not for me. I am a soloist player, on a "Respectful/Friendly" PvP server. I can't be building in something where, when/if I get raided, the raiders are able to plow through my buildings/tames due to the x6 dmg mod. So I am asking here, on what seems to be the most active form of, "Community outreach", there is for ARK. In the hope of maybe scoring me a solid location (Coords please.) to build up in.

I have a few wants/needs for the location: (Not 100% musts.)
1. Large enough for a few buildings. (9x9 home/crafting/storage building, 15x15 dinosaur enclosure, ect.)
2. Terrain that allows land tames to travel up/down it, w/o a long trek around.
3. In decent proximety to resources. (I don't need to be stared in the face by resources, but close enough that I don't feel like it's taking me ages to land/fly there, lol.)
4. Close enough to a water area for swimming tames. (I don't see myself having anything larger than a Megladon, but a place to put them would be nice.)

Now as I said, I am on a server where people in general are, nice and respectful and as long as you don't present yourself in a way that they feel threatened and if you don't tread of them, they leave you alone. So it doesn't need to be a super secret hidden ninja base location, but not at a obalisk either, lol.

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

theres a base location in the desert next to a peak we call "Riddick Rock"

Everything you need is there. Head south to the old abandoned fortress, look west and you cant miss it.

There is the plateau in the desert, follow the river going through the desert south to the coast then follow the coast west. Several locations all along the edges of the canyon that can only be reached by flyers or have only one route up. Caveish thing at the edge of the canyon going towards the volcano. One entrance hidden behind a waterfall, the other opens towards the volcano. Extremely hidden and there is no 6x damage. There are also waterfalls all over the desert and canyon with hidden caves. Two spots i like around the lake in the center of the redwoods.
-All of these locations have massive reserves of metal nearby

How do people like you exist? You argue you are not lazy but you are, you absolutely are.

Listen smart guy, I looked it up and I went through several YouTube videos, but if you read anything I typed. I stated the vast majority of them, where ones that showcased, caves and plateus as best locations. So I have done my research, I was merely asking for some pointers as to locations that may be good outside of caves/plateus for soloist-style players to build up on.

But thanks for your trolly reply, have a nice day.

Outside of caves/plateaus you pretty much are down to cliffs and wide open fields. There is a reason caves and plateaus are pretty much the only thing on the pvp base location videos. They are what can make bases actually difficult to raid.

if that plateau is the one I think you are talkng about, theres always a nest of elementals up there. Clearing them out will take some fun times.

No location, that would allow water access, is easily available unless you don;t mind treking from the highlands down to the shore for your water tames.

If you want a good flat area, but you would need a few fireplaces and fur armor, is the large flat frozen lake on the border between the redwoods and the ice area in the SE section/edge of the redwoods. It also have a long large tunnel underneath that you could incorporate into the base, and use as a potential escape tunnel if you go for PVP.

It would take effort for PVPers to raid you since they would be taking damage from the cold, but if you build right, you can be well insulated and not worry about that.

Ohh alright, so if I am looking for something besides those, I should look for PvE locations instead? Thanks!

Elementals dont actually spawn on top of the plateau and they are not at all difficult to bait. It can be done very easily on literally any mount and can be done on foot as well. Just walk them into the water

I wouldn't trade our spot for any other, we're on the east bank of the inlet to the pirates cove, just to the east of blue obi. Dunkle + all the metal in that inlet... use a boat, theri for wood with boat, etc. Honestly an insanely broken spot if you know how to use it properly. Nice gentle downsloap in the water for sea pen, easy land dino paths.

Check the highland beaches. There's a cave near hexagon rocks, perfect place to build up a base, and underwater access, also those spires coming down will allow you to build tree platforms on them! Love that base location.

Wasn't being a troll. I am honestly confused why you think your question is so unique. Why you, as amazing as you are, thought about something that no one ever has.

Just sad that you and a lot of people give up so easily in answering EASY questions and look to others. Why is it that you behave this way? I get that you have no understanding of what I am talking about. I get it that you have no choice in your behavior. But why ARE you helpless? What happened to you?

I know I will get flamed as a troll. I know most of you will believe I am intentionally being a troll. I am just tired of helpless people even if like this guy they are harmless. Helpless people just annoy me. So even if in my own way I am trying to "help" them I come off as an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Kati, I don't know what your problem is, or why you decided to join in on this discussion if people asking questions, just makes you lose your marbles so bad. I can assure you that I did my own research, and watched several videos on my question. (A point your seeming to ignore.) The reason I came here, was that, I wanted to know peoples opinions/recommendations here on the community forums, because this to is a form of research, asking questions and gaining knowledge of others, is part of being a community. You seem to have an awfully large chip on your shoulder for some unknown reason. So I suggest you, chill out, and ignore this thread if it bothers you so. Your not adding anything to this discussion, nor are you helping anyone with your poor attitudes towards others with questions, such as mine.

I hope you, can find some time today to chill out and breath, have a nice day.

Between Blue Obelisk and Viking bay, coastal region of the highlands up to the edge of redwoods, South East of the swamp along the coast etc etc.

Rag is one of if not the most base building friendly maps out at the moment, imo.

if you can find a spot level enough for a big base. Raggy is deceptive like that.

it may LOOK nice and level, but its actually a really slow grade to the land. Its why I love the map so much. Cant just plop down foundatains, gotta really see how the land lays ;)
