How to Build a Base at Hidden Lake

Here's a step-by-step guide for building a base at Hidden Lake. The guide assumes you have a raft, decent equipment, and a Pteradon.

1) Sail raft close to Hidden Lake
2) Pteradon somehow disapears off the raft during trip
3) Create more tranq arrows to tame a replacement Pteradon
4) Search for a Pteradon (can't find one anywhere)
5) Finally find one and tame it
6) Start flying towards Hidden Lake
7) Accidently press E and fall to your death (lose everything)
8) Respawn at boat
9) Try to find lost equipment and Pteradon (you can't find them)
10) Get killed by a Carno
11) Respawn at raft
12) Gather resources and rebuild armor and weapons
13) Decide not to bother with another Pteradon and walk to Hidden Lake
14) Walk into a pack of 15 dinosaurs
15) Try to run (it doesn't work)
16) Get killed by dinosaurs (lose everything)
17) Respawn at raft
18) Search for your lost equipment (you can't find it)
19) Decide not to bother rebuilding your equipment
20) Whilst naked, run to Hidden Lake
21) Get attacked by a raptor
22) Die
23) Respawn at raft
24) Repeat steps 20 - 23
25) Repeat steps 14 - 17
26) Literally cry from frustration
27) Write a sarcastic post on Steam forums
28) Google the word "literally" to make sure you spelled it correctly (you did not)
29) Fix the spelling mistake
30) Submit guide

And there you go. You have successfully wasted 5 hours and don't have a base at Hidden Lake. Feel free to repeat the steps as many times as you like, but in the end you will never have a base at Hidden Lake. Hidden Lake is a distant dream, always there, beckoning in the distance, but forever out of reach.

There is enough resource at the hiddeb lake to get a starter base going. Plus trikes pteras beavers carnos.

LOL sorry had to say that as I have been there done that many a time. The E button was my greatest enemy early in my ARK life. Also getting those runs of "bad luck" still come especially when troodons are around.

Try something else for a while then when the frustration levels have mellowed go back and try again. You usually find at certain times some things are impossible to achieve, others you just have to wonder what all the fuss was about.

We had the same issue setting up at Hidden Lake with a 6 man tribe. Now we are alphas of the server lol. Hidden Lake is rough to start from scratch at, we had to start in the South and level up a bit.
