no Mission Trees ?
The lack of mission trees is a downgrade from EU4 and HoI4. Trying to replicate a country's historical path is fun and gives the game a sense of flavour. When I play Spain or France, I sometimes forget which country I’m playing, as they feel so similar now.

It will most likely come in a future update. Game would have taken another 5 years to develop if they waited to add in everything previous games had
no i win buttons, no mana, no 1 click op ideas. Its strategy plan ahead, steer your nation toward desired outcome.

I think that it won't. They wanted to make EU5 a sandbox. Mission trees go directly against that because they railroad things.

Could be yes. But it can just be an optional thing. It maybe they come up with an even better system to replace it

Yes but having historical paths will also help the Ai form actual Historical Nations, Like Prussia, Russia, Netherlands etc... Currently that doesn't happen and it ruins immersion, I want to play a Historical game not a 1300s simulator where anything can happen

They already replaced them with events and situations.

Johan really doesn't like mission trees.

i always hated mission trees when they added them to eu4. it creates railroading, the player should decide the future of his country by himself!

Lol good point
no mission trees is an improvement as far as i am concerned
Mission trees were the best thing about EU4. I'm sure they will start coming in DLCs in like 2-3 years from now.

I like the research tree feels like a less ham fisted method to advance my civilization.

It allows for better customization and randomness.
Mission trees are cancer. The fact that EU5 doesn't have them is an improvement.
god i hated mission trees

Well it was nice to give you some goals, but sucked when you didn't want those specific goals are had to do some stupid thing to get to the ones you wanted.

So maybe no mission tree is better no that I think about it more haha
you could not have played more than a dozen hours and you say "sometimes I forget which nation i play" BROTHER, one playthrough will take you more than 30hrs. You have no basis to say this. Missions were amazing for providing guidance but horrible because they would railroad your game every time and give broken buffs. The game is the best PDX release in recent years, try more?
