Sorry you are experiencing these errors. Can you provide me with a bit more information:

- What is your operating system / bit depth ? (ie. Windows 7 64-bit)
- What "background programs running" are you referring to?
- You are saying that you found the Immortal Empire directory on your system, and there are no files there? Just an empty directory?

Thanks for your patience, we'll get these issues resolved promptly.

Im using windows 7 64bit,

Immortal Empire.exe
Immortal Empire.exe
Immortal Empire.exe
I cant close them. When I end the Game application, 2 of these 3 executables remain behind and will not stop untill i restart the computer...

I have to end steam and Immortal empire Executables, otherwise my comptuer is frozen up... But like i said, 2 of the 3 exe files remain behind untill comptuer restart...

My directory is full, Darkneblades issue is differnt from mine...

Ive tried re-installing, verifying, cleaning my computer... Nothing fixes this issue..

Dalorath, Some follow up questions:

- When you first open the game, do 3 executables open up immediately?
- Is it possible that you attempted to run the game multiple times (since it wasn't working)?
- What happens when you run the game - nothing? Just Immortal Empire.exe showing up in your processes tab? Or do you get a black screen, grey screen, white screen, other error message etc.?
- Can the executables be shut down in Task Manager rather than rebooting your system? (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, select the Immortal Empire.exe and "End Process") ?

yes, 3 exexutables open immediately, all 3 seemingly identicle...

No, I ran it once, and steam froze, wasnt able to try and run it more then once... Had to open task manager to end the applications before i could even do anything... ive restarted my computer 2 times, re-installed the game, verified files, cleaned my computer, and tried to run the game 3 times now, all with same results...

Nothing happens when i run the game, Steam immediatly freezes, i loose access to anything on my computer, and only way to get control back is to either ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer or go into task manager and end the applications, but even after ending the applicaitons, 2 of the Immortal Empire.exe files remain running and wont let me close them. They only dissapear on a computer restart...

Like i said, the 2 remaining executables can not be shut down without a computer restart...

Dalorath - definitely sounds different from Darkneblade's problem, which I believe is related to his 32-bit system. Do you know how to capture a dxdiag.txt? If so, can you please send to and I will continue to troubleshoot.

I know how to get teh file, but do you want me to capture it when the game is attempting to run? or just at any point?
rutsdc Dec 3, 2015 @ 8:31am
I have the exact same problem. Tried to reinstall before I saw all the extra exefiles running, and now there's four of them. Will restart and see what happens.

No need to capture while the game is running, just at any point, thanks!

Dxdiag sent.

Mine worked after reinstalling the game and restarting the computer.

Darkneblade's problem should now be fixed. Good to hear rutsdc... not sure what happened there yet. Dalorath - working on it.
Dalorath Dec 3, 2015 @ 9:04am
ok, thanks...

The game started working for me now... I tried doing what Rutsdc said... I uninstalled the game first, then restarted computer... And now it seems to be working... This is weird because i had tried it a few times before, but in differnt order.. I tried restarting then re-installing and it didnt work that way...
