CryEngine Error
I can't even launch the game.

I got aerror message "invalid parameter detected in CRT function"

I google this message and there was no clear solution.

I had doubts about my SB X-fi sound card but solution which disabling SPDIF didn't work.

Lets start with the Basic,
1st Do a File verify in Steam to make sure your download was not corrupted.
2nd Make sure you Video Card Drivers are up to date
AMD based Systems & Cards http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
NVidia based Cards http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Intel based Systems and Video http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

3rd Have you installed DX9c if on a windows 8/8.1/10 system? If not and your Steam is in a default location go to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MechWarrior Online\_CommonRedist\DirectX

And the DXsetup.exe there. Due to the fact the game is starting in DX9 and windows 8/8.1/10 do not come with DX9 installed at all. (it install in a Different Directory than DX10/11/12) reboot may be needed here.

4th if the above didn’t get you started please fill out the before data so we can start Trouble shooting
CPU:
RAM:
Video card:
OS:
also is it the 64bit version of the OS?

1~3 didn't work

CPU: Intel Core i5 760
RAM: 16GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

Ok please go to the Control Panel / Programs and Features and Make sure M$ Framework 4.0 is installed and M$ Visual C++ 2010 is installed

If you don't find them there than goto
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MechWarrior Online\_CommonRedist
to install them from your Hard drive IF Steam is in the Default Location.

Last if you're running Avast Antivirus Please read the Sticky at the top of the Technical area here.

Thank you, wolf74.

Sadly, both program were already installed.
Net framework 4.0 spit out messages "OS already include Net framework 4.0..." and I selected restore option on Visual C++ 2010 redistrubution(both x86, x64).

I still got error.

additionally, my AV is Bitdifender Internet Security.

I still has suspicion about SB X-fi soundcard, but it is too big deal that removing soundcard for testing one specific game.

Thank you very much for your help but I give up :sad_creep:

you can still deactivate the SB-X-Fi in the Control Panel / Device manager and check if that helps (i only have win7 so i don't know where to look in win10)

Goto the C:\Users\(Windows user Name here)\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Logs
and open the Omicron.log to see what it says. If you cannot read it upload and we will see if we can narrow your problem down from there.

Ok I have sent an Email to PGI(technical@mwomercs.com) giving them the Data from here and Linking to this Thread.

But as I was doing some more Digging I found this
http://www.crysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=56367

The Short Story of the Link is to Rename your Audio Devices using English.

Edit: Minor rewording to try to be clearer.
