What a coincidence, I'm also working on a finnish translation for the guide which is a complete text version atm without pictures (need to test it with friends before publishing it).

Your version is great, especially with the longer tables/instructions. There's couple word choises that I'm not sure, like translation of "Needy". I'm calling them as "Vaativat", but this is just a personal preference.

Wondering if the game developers are willing to add fan translations with in-game buttons since few of the words puzzle could be great in finnish too; I would love to have a crack on the finnish version from "Who's on first?"

Thanks for the feedback. "Vaativat" actually sounds a lot better. Maybe we could combine the best parts of our translations once we are finished so we get the best possible results.

I'm not completely sure if I agree with the in-game button translation part though, as some of the original words sound alike once they're said out loud. With Finnish words you don't get the same amount of confusion because there are not so many words that sound the same.

Sure, our combined effords could make the best translation. I'm ready to work together. The whole point in my part is to get some kind of guide to my friends who aren't so great with their english. Let's swich this on pm.

I disagree on the last part; the point is to have confusion either with interpreting instructions (tyhjä näyttö)/ tyhjä näyttö or having similar words like ah / aha or oota / ota and joo / jojo just to give few examples.

EDIT:
Just checking the official posts for fan translations, and noticed there's other finn translators. Awesome!

Note on the complicated wires: The 'S' case checks for even numbers, not the number seven.

Hello, here is an alternative Finnish translation that Jarcus Stone and I created. Could you add the link to the original post?

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Some artistic freedom was taken during translation :)

A couple of things: The "Who's on first?" module word list is a bit muddled, not sure how well it would print. The "Nakkivene" translation works better than the direct translation though.
The wire sequence might be better translated as "Johtosarja", like in the Schweinwerfer's translation.

I'm also a bit torn on the header translation. On one hand, a simple "Moduuli:*" is simple and clear, on the other, "*-sta" is more in tone with the original.
Hertzila 19 OCT 2015 a las 2:28 p. m.
A note on the "Who's on First?" module: Could a better name for it be "Sanaleikki" or "Puujalka"? Finnish doesn't really have an actual name for the type of comedy sketch / routine the module represents, so it might be better to just go with a generic name.
"Sanaleikki" was the one we kept using for it, at least.

Thanks for the feedback, Hertzila, it's much appreciated. We intend to improve since the whole fan translation is a working process.

My original translation is done very close to direct translation, but it's been later chanced for more fluent/better options by me or Solsol. "Nakkivene" was Sol's idea; I left it untranslated that time since there were no finnish versions of the mentioned sketch. Actually "Sanaleikki" has also been used in my own games, so it might change. My personal preference on "moduuli", is the pure and simple version, that it gives more "instructional" tone in my finnish ear as intented in the original manual.

The initial translation was done before Schweinwerfer's version, but we do consider better options when there are some available. I personally am willing to combine our efforts into single finnish manual since there isn't most room to be making too many unique translations from the fairly straightforward manual.

OK. To be changed:
- "Who's on first?"-module -> "Sanaleikki"
- Wire sequence -> "Johtosarja"
- Remaking the "Sanaleikki" wordlist from scratch. Previous wordlist is from the template and it is only a picture which causes it to be little blurry.

For now I would like to keep headers as "Moduuli:". The "*-sta" ending sounds little bit weird in Finnish. Actually "On the Subject of x" would be translated as "Aiheesta x". Should there also be more generic name for Simon Says as Kapteeni Käskee was not used (as far as I know) in Finland for that electronic game?

Thank you for these! Totally playable now with everyone willing :)

Used Jarcus' translation at school the other day and had a great time. I'm one of a class of foreigners learning (among other things) to improve our Finnish, and we paired up with some lähihoitaja-students, who... I guess the point was they had to learn to treat people with less-than-perfect Finnish skills like adults, I don't know... in any case it was a lot of fun, and at least five of the students left with printed copies of your translation vowing to go buy the game.

Semi-unrelated fun-fact: when explaining that one of the symbols "näyttää lambdalta" the response was "Puhu suomeä!" Unfortunately "Kreikkalainen L" did not clear things up :P
