Notes so Far 01 — Tutorial to Galaxy 4/6
[This is supposed to be in the bug-reporting thread; apologies if it is in the wrong place; it says "General Discussions".]

W7(64). Sandy Bridge. GTX970 — UHD. (Also GTX560Ti, not used for game.)

• Intro — On a UHD screen (in a system with multiple screens), the image, in the top left, of the room is replicated across the screen from its right, and down the screen from its bottom, like a bar-code. Also, I am assuming that the person figures are supposed to be "in" the room; they are offset down and to the right.

• Mouse being configured for a left-hander is not recognised.

• Tutorial \ (Interface: 2 / 11) — There is no "Next" button. (I continued by clicking on the resource area.)

• Tutorial \ (Interface: 3 / 11) — "below".

• Tutorial \ (Interface: 9 / 11) — What "Planetary Services" is is not immediately fully clear to me. No "Next" button.

• Tutorial \ (Interface: 10 / 11) — "Scout Drone", "Scout Drone", "Scout". I missed the arrow pointing to the hex (probably just me, but maybe you could flash the arrows or something).

• Tutorial \ (Blueprints: 5 / 6) — blueprint naming: insertion point bar not in place (possibly because UHD screen).

• Tutorial \ (Galaxy: 4 / 6) — I don't seem to be able to right-click on the second Terran planet. (Because UHD screen)? Windows 7 (noting that this is listed, but only for W10). Okay; I can click on it at the very right side of the screen, but the survey button is off the screen (to the right). [So how do I exit from the tutorial?]

Thanks for reporting these bugs, we've been able to replicate them using AMD Eyefinity. We've tested the game thoroughly with standard resolutions from 1024x768 all the way up to 3840x2160 and recently fixed a number of major bugs in non-standard resolutions, but until now we haven't supported UHD setups. It shouldn't take too much dev time to fix these bugs and add UHD support, so I'll add it to the dev list for the next update.

Left handed mouse support is something I didn't even think of, thanks for bringing this to my attention! This should be relatively easy to implement and I can roll it out in the next update.

This is correct, the tutorial will highlight things you have to click on to progress and only shows a Next button if there's nothing you have to click on.

Thanks, I have fixed this text. This popup used to appear above the graph but now appears to the side.

Thanks, the usage of the term Scout Drone has now been made consistent across the game. Flashing the arrow is a good idea, and making the item you have to click more prominent may also be useful.

This is very slightly off on my screen when text is typed in, I'll add this to the bug list and check on it.

Yep, this is definitely another bug caused by UHD. The System window is also supposed to be on the side of the screen like the window on the planet screen, but in wide resolutions it appears to be in the wrong place. I'll be fixing this in the next update when we officially add UHD support. A quit tutorial button sounds like a good idea for those who want to stop mid way through too.

Update: UHD support and left-handed mouse support are now in, and will be deployed in the next minor patch, probably tomorrow. There are a few other bugs and crashes I want to investigate fix before pushing an update.

Cheers,
