Reseting progress
Is there any in-game way of reseting progress? If not, where i can find the location of save file. Also ive noticed the game using steam cloud to sync saves. Is there an option to turn off that too?

Keiichi,

Unfortunately, there is no way the player can reset the progress by himself, for it is stored on our server. And the game doesn't use steam cloud to sync saves.

If you really want that, we can delete your game progress. But can you, please, tell us why exactly do you want that? Maybe, there is another way of fixing whatever it is that urges you to start from the beginning.

Hi Keiichi. :steamhappy:

It seems that the wicked developers -for whatever reason- want to force the save/progress to be synced from, as he points out, their servers; for a single player game and even if you do not use the Steam cloud service. Abhorrent behavior. Looks like you have to beg and give "valid" reasons as to why you would want a clean start, and maybe, if they feel like it and are still in business, might do so on a case by case basis. How insidious.

I myself have been playing this "cute" and fun -yet very unbalanced- game recently, and am now ready to move on. As is always the case with me, I back up saves for archival and future reuse purposes. The save for this game is handled via the Windows registry - specifically;
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HeroCraft\Marble Duel]

However, as already mentioned, they "force" sync and restore the existing cloud save, whether you like it or not. Things like this should be illegal. (Yes, part of a country's criminal code.) There is no point talking about "alternate" means or such, because our purpose here is purely legitimate. Therefore, using the official game and files, there is only one absolutely legitimate way to reset your progress. You have to delete (or even simply rename) the save hive in the Windows registry, and disable internet access for the game. You could achieve this via several easy means. You can unplug your modem/router when playing the game, use the Windows HOSTS file to permanently block the game's outbound traffic, or simply -and preferably- use your system's firewall rules to do the same. Be aware that if you ever "accidentally" let the game access the internet, it will forcefully re-sync with the last save it has in the cloud.

tl;dr

To reset progress;

The game saves and stores the progress in the Windows registry. Delete the hive and block the game from accessing the internet. Done!

I would like to reset the game, as my eldest played it offline, and I'd like to play it myself. I want a fresh profile because I can't earn achievements the way things are now :(
