Poor Performance
Hello,

I was able to run the original just fine but I cannot run this at a playable framerate on a GTX 980 and 8 core AMD CPU.

I tried messing with some settings, but to no avail so far. Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hello. Did you update your graphics card drivers? I run this perfectly fine on a 4-core i7 and a Radeon 7970. It sounds to me like there might be an issue with your graphics card performance.

I am quite sure the drivers are up-to-date, but I will check again. What is weird is that it runs exactly the same no matter what graphics settings I put it on. "Simple" is the same as "Fantastic" performance-wise. The original game runs fine.

Hello again! I did notice that on my computer under windows 8.1 the game starts in "windowed mode" but fills the whole screen 1920x1080. In that mode the game runs a bit "rough" on my computer. But when I went into options anc checked the box "full screen" on the green button, it ran fine after that. Make sure this box is checked.

Noticed it was a Unity game. That sucks. It's typically rough going with AMD processors. From the screens it looks like a♥♥♥♥♥♥ton of lightning and that's what bogs Unity more times than not. Intel's 'per core' strength is why you'll never really hear of any Unity fps issues from their owners. Hopefully this sheds some light. 3, 4, 6 core Phenom's to the APU's to the 8 core Vishera's they typically all run into framrate issues.

It's not just AMD, I have an Intel Quad core with a Nvidia GT 640 and 8 gigs of RAM and there's frame rate problems even with simple graphics and every other graphics option turned off in the game.

no good here either i7950 12gig 980gtx 10-20fps . set resolution to very low and had to delete registry key to reset it . noticed a couple of invalid dword errors for sound and control . control sensitivity only changed vertical sensitivity . must be game error gpu usage only about 10%

plyr1739, I noticed the horizontal sensitivity remaining unchanged as well (although it was hard with how bad the FPS was). I don't think it is Unity's fault, I used to develop a lot of Unity and I always got rock solid FPS on my machine. Also I don't have problems running any other Unity games. My GPU is also underutilized. CPU as well.

I'm away from my desktop right now and was playing this on my laptop and figured it was caused by that. Now that apparently it's not my laptop that's causing the horrible frame rates I really hope they get that fixed. I really want to play it but the terrible frame-rate makes it almost completely unplayable. Intel 4000 graphics with an i7 and 16 GB of ram on my laptop. Desktop has an i7, 16 GB of ram and a GTX 670.

Running the game on CPU-integrated graphics like Intel 4000 and such is not optimal and does not meet the system requirements. A dedicated graphic card is recommended. I run this game on an Intel i7-2600K and a Radeon HD7970 under windows 8.1 and it works fine. Only occasionally at some places I have some lag.

Hello, I am helping BCS answering some of your questions. The game should not freeze, please make sure you have all the latest Windows updates and that you have the latest drivers for your graphic card. Also make sure your Windows installation is Genuine and has been activated online. Game performance optimization is currently being done. The beta test group for this game has been very small, so it has been hard to test the performance on a wide variety of computers. Please be patient, there will be some updates made for this game to tune performance. If you have been apart of the beta testing group or had the game installed before it was on steam you can try this: Go to steam, uninstall the game completely, restart your computer. When the computer is restarted, go to your registry editor by typing Regedit in your "run" box on the start menu. In Regedit go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Black Curtain Studio\ and delete the whole "Black Curtain Studio" folder. Restart the computer again and try to re-install the game through Steam once again. This has been proven to solve freeze issues in some cases.

Is it fixed now? Thinking about buying it but only if I can play it without any problem on my 770gtx

I'm aware that it's not optimal, I'm just concerned that It still will lag on my desktop with a dedicated graphics card. Turning down the settings even to the lowest values (640p with the lowest graphics settings) didn't make any difference whatsoever in framerate, which even with my poor graphics on my laptop seems to imply to me that it's a design flaw, driver issue or issue with the engine and not an issue with my graphics firepower.

This game is terrible. It's probably performing badly because it uses so many third party plugins for unity...which means it'll never get resolved.

Performance is bloody terrible. Any Unity game has bad performance written into the concept of what the tool is trying to achieve.

Worst game performance I've seen in while. I can't even crack 30 FPS with the lowest graphics setting and all effects turned off, on a brand new GTX 980.
