Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Performance Tuning Guide

For what it's worth

I have a GTX 1080. I'm playing at 1440p and have a consistent and stable 60fps.

Here's what I did....

Contact Hardening Shadows = Off
MSAA = Off
Texture Quality = Very High
Cloth Physics = Off
Sharpen = Off
Chromatic Abberation = Off
Depth of Field = Off
Motion Blur = Off

That's all I've done. Every other setting is as high as it goes. The last 4 settings listed there, are 100% personal preference and don't affect performance as far as I'm aware.

EDIT: Having Texture Quality on Ultra was making my GPUs VRAM go up to 7.5GB at times, and hovering around 6.8-7GB most of the time. With Texture Quality on Very High, my GPUs VRAM usage doesn't go above 5.5GB. If you have a video card with less than 6GB of VRAM, I strongly recommend putting Texture Quality on High or Medium.

One more thing...All of this is at an fov of 75%.
Most wont bother with this because they think a 970 can max everything.

Most people don't know what video settings are and do.

most people think when a game runs on gtx 1080 at 120 fps, so it means the game is very good optimised ;)

The texture quality setting and the amounts you get are likely due to texture caching which a lot of games have been using lately, meaning the game uses more VRAM because you have more available for caching. For comparison sake, on my 980Ti's, setting textures to Ultra never goes above 5.2GB.

That's true, I guess. I just thought it was worth mentioning. Though it's strange that my VRAM usage drops significantly after dropping the setting...with the way you described texture caching, you'd think that it would use as much of your vram as it could no matter which setting you used.

Settings are pretty much the same as yours but I'm running @1080p and textures on high due to using a GTX 970.

My rig meets recommended specs for 1080p gameplay and I'm getting 60fps and smooth performance all round.

Glad to hear that you're not experiencing many problems. Have a good one.
