Optimized?
Does anyone know if this game is poorly optimized or not?
I've just seen the benchmark video with gtx 1080, and it was getting like 30 fps on ultra setting for 1080p.
Since the game is not released on steam yet, i'm not sure if the benchmark rightnow is credible.

The fact that they actually programmed the game with support for Dx12 from the ground up means they do care about optimization.

Had they take the same route as many idiotic development studios that go Dx11 first and throw gameworks into the picture, the game would be broken as hell and need a day one patch for being unplayable (I'm looking at you ACU, and Arkham Knight).

By going Dx12, they give backwards compatibility with Dx11 by default.

I am not sure if they worked with Vulkan, because in 2016 and 2017, any studio that makes a game that uses both Vulkan and Dx12 would likely optimize the game to the best potential.

Basically here's a simple equation:

Developers + AMD = Optimized game for EVERYONE, not simply Nvidia OR AMD, but everyone.

Developers + Nvidia = A big F U to everyone who doesn't own Nvidia.

Thats with 8x MSAA, they probably fix that MSAA performance dip with the patch.

nixxes handle the pc version. In the past they did great work. It should be well optimized.

The review copy lacks the day 1 patch. I'd say it's clearly not the whole picture.

People are playing without day one patch & some didn't even use newest drivers... Also people who say its running like crap are playing it at 4k &/or 8x MSAA... Also high vs ultra shows such a little difference & yet tanks FPS... People who are fully maxing the game past 1080p are having the issues like any new game would be having...

I'm sensing a lot of bias in this.

For example, the new Hitman game was made on AMD and it runs like total♥♥♥♥♥♥on Nvidia hardware. There's a clear bias to both sides depending on what hardware they develop on. Obviously that's going to be the case- they are endorsed and usually building on THAT brand of hardware.
General rule of the thumb- if they developed it on AMD, it's going to run like♥♥♥♥♥♥on Nvidia; if they developed it on Nvidia, it's going to run like♥♥♥♥♥♥on AMD (until patches and drivers come out, of course. Sometimes.).
At least that's been my general experience, and the consensus as I take it from years of skulking PC gaming forums.

I hope it does. But Rise of the Tomb Raider has very poor CPU optimization. I'd be a little worried.

My computer is below the minimum requirements of Rise of the Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and obviously Deus Ex Mankind Divided. And yet the first three games run as smooth as a baby's bottom compared to the last game, even with the severe framerate issues Fallout 4 sometimes has.

The first three run with a resolution of 1280x720, Anisotropic Filtering at 4x, Texture Quality at least at medium.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided runs like♥♥♥♥♥♥at 800x600 (52% of 1280x720), AF at 2x and everything else set to low. And it doesn't even look better than the first three games. So yes I think this game is not optimized AT ALL!

Ouch, can only imagine how painful it is to game at 720p in 2016, may actually get the better experience by watching the complete playthrough on Youtube.
