THANKS A MILLION!! And will spread word
Thank you! I already bought this game (and others) long ago to play with the open-source version of AGS (with mixed, but mostly acceptable results) but official support is very much appreciated.
So does that mean that all of the games that could sensibly be hoped for (*) are updated now? I can't remember if The Shivah always had a Linux version or not.
(*) I'm not holding my breath for Da New Guys, Puzzle Bots isn't even on the Wadjet Eye Games web site any more, and Emerald City Confidential uses a different game engine I believe?
1) Puzzle Bots I believe is no longer part of the WEG family [not sure if the source code is even owned by WEG, which if not, then there's that]
2) Da New Guys: Day of the Jackass, is not even on Steam "Available exclusively at publisher Wadjet Eye's website, Da New Guys: Day of the Jackass" and the same thing here as well, not sure if we have the source code for it.
100% sure on the following:
1) Emerald City Confidential's source code is owned by PlayFirst and thus since they abandoned most of their older games, it is 100% lost.
2) The Shivah, will be the next game to be updated with the same treatment as all these games have been. Focusing on maintaining savegames, fixing bugs, adding missing things like options and of course adding Mac and Linux builds.
3) Everything else on the catalogue has been fully updated both on Steam and GOG.
Thanks, that's pretty much what I expected. I think Puzzle Bots was on the Wadjet web site when I bought it, but that was many years ago. (Oddly enough Steam still lists Wadjet Eye Games as the publisher, but I trust the web site over Steam.)
Very nice indeed. I've been meaning to replay these games for a long time (and a few of them I never played at all), so maybe this will finally give me the incentive to do so.
* Blackwell Epiphany
* Unavowed
* Technobabylon
* Resonance
* Shardlight
I owned Gemini Rue and The Shiva, which were on Linux already, and Blackwell Deception which I was gifted.
Now you only need to do something so I get the time to actually play all these games. :D
Awesome work! Thank you so much! <3
Same here, except Resonance, which I already bought before I stopped dual-booting. I don't remember much of it though, so I'll probably play it again once I'm done with Shardlight.
Speaking of Puzzle Bots, which was mentioned earlier in the thread: The creator, Erin, also made Gravity Ghost, which is available for Linux. It's a platformer though, but I remember being moved by the story, so it might be worth looking into for some of you.
...which also made me remember that James here also made a platformer, called Until I Have You. In AGS, of all things. :P It was too difficult for an old guy like me though, so I never managed to get very far in it.
Another question: Did gamingonlinux.com reach you? They'd like to make an interview if you want to.
It's indicated on this article https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/02/wadjet-eye-games-brings-shardlight-over-to-linux/
"We have sent an email over to the developer, to see if they want a chat about their recent Linux endeavours. Stay tuned."
