Resolution / UI Scaling Masterthread
So -- UI scaling and different resolutions has been a hot topic on the boards since launch.

We are working on two separate efforts --

1) Down-scaling to help smaller resolutions -- this is included in v2.0.5 of the game, going live now. If you have a window or screen that will play the game at less thatn 1400x900, you'll be getting some down scaling of the UI to remove overlap and make the game play as it is intended. Sorry that we didn't have this before, it is in v2.0.5 -- so please update and share your experience!

2) Up-scaling to help large resolutions -- this is not yet finished but we are working on the effort to provide options for larger resolution screens that don't involve you changing your Windows DPI (text items larger or smaller). We are NOT done with this yet but we ARE dedicated to getting it right for you.

Please share your resolution / ui scaling thoughts / experiences / concerns here! Please include your resolution, fullscreen or not, and any DPI scaling you have turned on.

Hi, I'm playing at 1280 x 1024 resolution and the character portraits in dialogues are still falling out outside the right and left screen border. It happens despite the recent update. Is there anything could be done with that? Thanks!

Can you please post a screenshot?

We can help. We just need more details.

Thank you. Do you mind also sharing a screenshot of the landing zone or orbit of a system?

You've said you are playing at 1280x1024.
Are you in fullscreen or windowed mode?
Do you have Windows DPI scaling set?

We will get this fixed, we just need details.

I'm playing at 1280x1024, this is the maximum resolution my old monitor supports without burning out my eyes. I don't use any custom DPI soft, just the standart Windows settings. The system is Windows 7 SP1. I play full screen.

No UI problems when I start the game at TV that connected through HDMI as a second monitor though, as TV-set supports the better resolution. I just don't feel comfortable to play such kind of a game using TV instead of PC monitor.

(!) ps - One more issue I find strange is that I cannot set the window mode resolution of the game below 1400x900. Could it be somehow connected to my problem?

No worries, we will work on fixing this issue.

I just want to be sure about the DPI scaling so I can reproduce your environment. Default is sometimes medium (125%). Can you right click on desktop > screen resolution > Make items or text larger or smaller and check what DPI % you have set there?
nineospades Nov 17, 2017 @ 11:59am
Mine is small (100%)
I've tried to switch to 125% just in case, that didn't help :)

Ok, thank you! We will see if we can fix this with the next update.

I'm playing at 1280x1024 and now the game is playable ... in the dialogues the characters portraits are visible; to see them you don't have to set FULLSCREEN (otherwise the portraits are not visible) but WINDOWED MODE at 1440x900.
Trese Brothers  [developer] Nov 17, 2017 @ 1:05pm
@robertsilvait - interesting info for us to try to figure out. Why setting 1440x900 is better than fullscreen.

We will fix in both cases.
nineospades Nov 17, 2017 @ 2:03pm
Just tryed is as @robertosilvait recommended (windowed, 1440x900) - everything works fine that way.

Ok, I know we can figure out the fullscreen thing at 1280x1024!

indeed, the 1440x900 windowed does work, now I can finally give the game a proper try
though I still prefer to play fullscreen, I am sure that will get patched eventually
