game worked perfectly earlier today, now it will not load past 40% lua loading
https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/CrashReports/issues/30977

heres my crash report.

idk what the issue is here

will note that my friends and i use a mumble server that occasionally causes the game to crash when you talk during the Lua loading phase. we counteract this by not talking lol, no idea if this is related bought thought i would mention it

Yes the game will always crash if you push to talk during loading, I have no idea why but it is very reliable.

The crash log looks like a driver issue, try upgrading your gpu driver.
Windows is really aggressive to point out when a program is not responding if a program does not handle input events or does not update the screen often enough. Most of the time you can just press the cancel button on the "program not responding" prompt and wait for it to start responding. But since windows prevents updating the screen while the prompt is active you can actually get into an unrecoverable state and crash.

If the devs want to fix it. All they should need to do is to keep updating the screen and reading inputs while loading is happening even if nothing changes on the screen.
There is an option already to do that, but for some reason it had even more bugs (LoadingMT=1)

i checked and its up to date.

i literally played 1 or 2 games that morning then that afternoon it didnt work =(
so i have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and on multiple drives, still absolutely no luck. verifying cache did absolutely nothing as well. all my drivers are up to date as well.
after installing to my other drive again just to try it again, im still erroring out https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/CrashReports/issues/31014

We just recently switched Windows users to 64 bit, for some people the 64 bit drivers seem to work worse. Worst case you could switch back to 32 bit for the time being, for example by renaming the engine folders in Zero-K\engine

Mind giving me a little more details on how to switch back? Makes me sad tho with the 64 bit my game ran so much better, oh well I just want to be able to play

The engine that is currently running is in Steam\steamapps\common\Zero-K\engine\win64\104.0.1-1510-g89bb8e3
The 32 bit engine is in: Steam\steamapps\common\Zero-K\engine\win32\104.0.1-1510-g89bb8e3

You can try to replace the 64 bit engine with the 32 bit engine as a dirty temporary fix. It'd at least be interesting to know whether that fixes your crashes.

I updated today and my game crashes when loading a map. I tried changing the name of teh win32 directory to win64 to trick the game into using the 32 bit engine but it made no difference. I'd post a crash log if someone tells me where to find one.

A popup should appear asking you to submit a crash report after a crash. You can click yes and link to it here. Also, which map?

my crash reports have been posted several times above if you were refering to me

happens on every map, even campaign. it always crashes at 40% lua loading

I have the same problem.
I won't post crash log because crash log appears to contain password hashes and that makes me rather concerned. But it's a crash in atio6axx.dll. It happens during gadget loading, specifically when loading CustomUnitShaders I think. Settings don't seem to make a difference.
